This module is universal and works on all motherboards mode UEFI. So it should not be removed.
you can use the same AR815X rom for AR813X.
there is also some additional roms for AR811X at official site:

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
Pacman posted this Realtek LAN ROM v2.60 already in July (look >here<).
Nevertheless thanks for your input.

can will update the main page?
You are absolutely right: I forgot to update the Realtek LAN ROM version within the start post of this thread - my bad!
Now (better late than never) I have set the start post up-to-date regarding this Realtek LAN ROM module.
Thank you very much for the info!
Does anyone know if I can use ROM 2.0.6.6 for Atheros 815x on Atheros/Attansic L1? The difference between the L1 and the 815x(L1C/D/E) is that the original L1 is PCI while the later ones are PCIe. Dev ID is 1969:1048 on an Asus board (P5B-VM SE). Of course I’ll have to change the dev_id with a hex editor.
@ mockingbird:
I think, that you can try to flash a BIOS, which contains a modded Atheros LAN ROM v2.0.6.6 (wth corrected DeviceID hex code). If the update should fail, you will be able to re-flash the currently used BIOS.
Please report here, if you succeeded.
Happy New Year!
Fernando
Hi Fernando,
I attempted it, but the system froze in Windows with all wacky sorts of distortions on the screen.
Went back to 1.0.20.16, and everything works fine. I’ve attached it for you if you care to post it (As far as I know it’s the latest one). The difference between L1 and AR8151 (L1C/D/E) is that L1 is a PCI bus chip and the others are PCIe.
l1.zip (24 KB)
Hopefully someone can offer me some help here.
I downloaded the rom module for the Realtek Lan V2.61 and the size is 54k but, the one I have in my BIOS file is 50k and using CBrom.exe it says the file is too big to integrate the new one so, I am guessing I am doing something wrong?
Any help would be very useful. I am using CBrom.exe version 1.98 and so far I have replaced the raid rom and it was ok, and the memrit was altered by cbrom.exe.
Thanks in Advance
@ Pendaws:
Have you already tried to remove the original OROM (by using the “/pci release” command) as first step and then to insert the new one?
This method doesn’t need as much free space as the normal OROM replacement action.
I will give that a try.
Fernando, thanks very much for the advise, worked
can ı use realtek’s rom with my notebook its dev version is 8168
Probably yes, but the main question will be, if you will get any modded BIOS successfully flashed into the BIOS chip of your notebook.
Furthermore I ask myself, why do you want to update even modules, which you will never need or use (the LAN ROM is only useful, if you want to wake up your notebook via LAN).
