OverPowered TONGFANG CyberPower Machrevo MACHENIKE - Unlocked BIOS Guide W/ Files

@Lost_N_BIOS the BIOSreg attached above is unedited bin image from FPTW

@371 I do not need your biosreg, but I do already have it. Follow along with what I said in previous post, you first have to be able to flash back dumped bios region file before I can unlock for you
So you have to do the grub stuff I mentioned first and then make a new BIOS region dump file and send to me, only after you disabled BIOS Lock and PRR, and then have success at step #2 of the FPT spoiler.

@Lost_N_BIOS yes I did the steps, I can flash back the unmodified bios without error

now working through the grub stuffā€¦ need some time

! Wow. This website can upload files without logging in!
------------------

I want to modify ā€œturbo boost power maxā€ in the bios, so that there is no need to install XTU
Do you know where the ā€œturbo boost power maxā€ option is in the bios?

Iā€™m sorry Sir for my noobish question but I canā€™t follow youā€¦ you said start from Nr. 6 ā€“>6. Rename boot64.efi file to Shell.efi now, and place it in the root your USB stick, ie - not in any folders,

where do I get the efi filešŸ˜‚ is that a universal file or do I need to extract it from my computer?

Update: I just disabled secure boot in bios without all the grub stuff and now Iā€™m able to flash the modded biosā€¦
------------------

@Lost_N_BIOS big problem sir I flashed the modded bios with success but now stack at boot logonā€¦ Is my notebook bricked?

@yaodao0yaodao - Yes, thatā€™s why I use it, and no waiting to download either. Same for this place >> uploadfiles.io (but files only last 30 days there)
Thanks for BIOS region, I will look about that setting, it may not be in BIOS. What is this brand and model name etc?

I only see the following turbo options in this BIOS
Energy Efficient Turbo
Core Extra Turbo Voltage
ConfigTDP Turbo Activation Ratio
Intel(R) Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 (It may be this, just named differently in BIOS, unsure)
Intel(R) Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 Driver
And the normal Turbo Mode enable/disable

Do you need me to unlock this BIOS? If yes, can you already write back dumped BIOS region with FPT?

@371 - Few things here - First, please always follow exact directions with FPT, mentioning because >> DO NOT use FPT64 (as noted in bold in the FPT spoiler)
Second, what mod BIOS are you flashing?? I didnā€™t make you any mod BIOS, so need to know what you are flashing.

.EFI file for grub/setup_var is attached to linked guide at the bottom of first post, as I mentioned. I doubt you can flash mod BIOS without doing grub stuff, but sometimes you might be lucky and itā€™s already unlocked, that would be rare for these systems though
Anyway, not sure, about the brick or not, since you can see boot logo. I donā€™t know what BIOS you flashed, so I canā€™t look at it to confirm if bad BIOS etc, and FPTw64 causes issues sometimes too, so itā€™s possible something went wrong here due to that even if BIOS was modified properly.
Can you enter BIOS? If yes, then you may just need to reload optimal defaults, save and reboot back to BIOS, then make sure your hard drive settings are all same as before UEFI or legacy, CSM enabled or not, make sure main HDD/SSD is first in boot priority list etc.

@Lost_N_BIOS the BIOS I flashed was the original biosreg extracted with FPTW64ā€¦ by following this thread, replaced the three PE32 Image Section etc.

I can not enter bios, it just hang on the bootlogon

update: someone mentioned I have to hardflash the bios chip with some kind of USB bios chip flasher,
BIOS Chip model is GD25B128C

Mine is MECHREVO Z2-G gk5cp6z
Yes, it has been fixed. Can use FPT

f16t4386p101834n2_YxekKjtN-thumb.jpg

@371 as mentioned, do not use FPTw64 - Also, what is your brand name and model? I doubt that any file here is for your model, unless you have one of the original older supported ones in the first post which I made this guide for long ago.
And, if you do have one of those exact models, you need to replace only two PE32 sections and one may be As-Is (Setup PE32) and one may be BODY replacement (AMITSE PE32, depending on brand/BIOS some I included body some As-Is, usually BODY though), the third file to replace is not PE32 of anything (AMITSE/SetupData - BODY ONLY).
Can you boot to DOS? If yes, you can flash back your original dumped BIOS region Yes, if you cannot boot to DOS then you will need flash programmer like you showed above (CH341A + SOIC8 test clip with cable)
You do not need the little square spring loaded adapters though, so maybe you can find smaller bundle with just the programmer and the SOIC8 test clip with cable

If you end up having to get programmer, for BIOS chip GD25B128C use the following

software 1.34 and BIOS ID GD25Q128 Or included Colibri with this same ID
or ASProgrammer 1.41 and exact chip ID - https://github.com/nofeletru/UsbAsp-flash/releases/

Here is guide on using - [GUIDE] Flash BIOS with CH341A programmer
And here is general CH341A software, driver needs installed once only, before you start using - http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?filā€¦695330485827902

Hey, about those Light Effects and when I make new 2nd set visible, can you use from either set then, or still only original ones?
No one ever answered me about that, or I didnā€™t ask, and I see in your post back image in January both are set to two different things at same time, so made me wonder if the new revealed one works or not.
If not, I will have to stop revealing this for users, or maybe ask them which they want, if others can work but only if one visible at a time etc.

*** WARNING - To ANYONE with laptop and unlocked BIOS!!!
DO NOT try to enable this graphics card or disable that card, switch cards etc. Otherwise you will end up with no display output (ie black screen) and no way to recover except by blind flash or with flash programmer.
You can change graphics related settings, like changing memory sizes, or core speeds etc, just donā€™t try to disable one card or change which is main etc.

Additionally, be very careful when trying to undervolt CPU, you can leave BIOS unbootable due to CPU voltage too low (Sometimes even 0.05 is too much)

WARNING *** - This BIOS is user specific! If you are not user yaodao0yaodao at Win-RAID.com forum, DO NOT USE THIS BIOS!!
If you do, and you are not yaodao0yaodao, then you will loose your serial, UUID, OG NVRAM, and possibly LAN MAC ID as well.
You have been warned!!!

One is the keyboard lighting effect at startup
The other is the lighting effect of the keyboard after entering the system
But there are bugs, MECHREVO has a lot of bugs
For example, when unplugging the power, the keyboard light should be dim. But in many cases, the keyboard light will be completely off.

@yaodao0yaodao - Ahh, thanks, nice to know!! I wonder why they hide one from you originally? Which is visible by default, the one that controls keyboard LED when? There is also a third one possible too, I wonder what it controls, or when?
I would consider that a plus, about the keyboard, save on battery life. Does changing Q-Key function Office/Gaming affect this? Maybe this is EC FW issue? If you can find other brands with same model (GK5CP6Z) and then find their full BIOS/EC FW update package, you could test those BIOS/EC and see if you can find one that works better

The default display is the lighting effect at startup
I have two guesses about the third light effect setting

Do you want to test BIOS with third option made visible, so we can confirm? Thanks for your info and testing BTW!

@Lost_N_BIOS my model is Machrevo Z2 Air-G, with BIOS version 1.07, the Motherboard is displayed as MECHREVO GK5CP6X, they have same PCB as Z2 and Iā€™m sure the bios is compatible, else there is no way for me to flash the moded bios with success, all was I did was disable secure boot and flash with FPTw64, ended up with showing FPT operation successful

Anyway seems like I need to get the programmer :joy: one question left: the model code on my BIOS chip is branded as GD25B127D, but in FPTw it showed up as GD25B128C, are the flash steps still the same?

IMG_20200601_015739-01.jpeg

@371 - Thanks, finally, for the model. There is no mod BIOS files here in this thread for that model, or any GK5CP6X, so this is your first mistake. So, not sure what ā€œMod Filesā€ you tried to apply, but they would not match and thus would brick your BIOS, even if inserted correctly.
If you mean you used the ā€œZ2ā€ mod files from page one, this is not compatible with your system (would have to match >> GK5CP6X)

So, you canā€™t boot to DOS at all? If not, then yes, you need flash programmer.
As for the chip ID, I assume the above mentioned info will work, but the only time Iā€™ve talked with user about that exact chip was here, at link to BIOS-mods forum within this link (and then that user here also did not ever reply back)
[REQUEST] Asus FX504GM Bios Unlock Hidden Options (2)

I also want to try
You modify it, let me flash it in

@yaodao0yaodao - Here, all three should be visible now, if not let me know and I will unsuppress all three instead
http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?filā€¦592432657962127

The first line is the lighting effect after booting
The third line is the lighting effect when starting up
I do nā€™t know the second line, it seems useless

IMG_20200601_144637.jpg

Thanks! So, can you confirm, the ā€œSecond Oneā€ now, is the new one I made visible for you?
Meaning the two I originally did were proper and function as weā€™ve been discussing, but this new additional one there seems to be no use for, so I was good all along leaving it hidden then correct?

yes
