What do you mean, “you’ve been flashing your BIOS”??? No flashing is needed here, other than the dumps we edit… So not sure what you’re meaning there?
Also, sorry, I am not sure what you are talking about, or asking, with the attached image and “Intel Info” That is just ME System tools >> Flash programming tools folder - Not sure what you are talking about “It looks Legit and right model” etc?
No, I don’t need manual
I checked, none of the mod changes are there, only stock! So, lets try this instead and see if same or diff outcome
FPTw.exe -a 0x452000 -l 0x52D000 -d MainDXE.bin
Dump that ^^ and send to me.
@Lost_N_BIOS - ohhhhhh…hahahaha! ok. Then never mind all that
Anyway, I attached below what you asked for.
-------------------
Sorry for the late reply, btw. I was sick these past few of days.
MainDXE.zip (2.8 MB)
@Enab - Good to see you are feeling better now! Never a rush here, so no worries
Here, flash this back via >> FPTw.exe -a 0x452000 -l 0x52D000 -d MainDXEMod.bin << This was dump command, instead of flash, sorry!
http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…412246477038184
And show me image of this flash happening, so I can see what all is written, thanks
Then reboot to BIOS, load optimized defaults, save and reboot back to BIOS and then see if all menu same still.
@Lost_N_BIOS - Thank you. For a while there I was afraid it was the rona. But my test turned negative so I was just happy it was something else.
Anyhoo, I flashed back what you sent and rebooted. Well, there was something new this time. Upon opening it was making me choose - Load Previous Values - Yes/No. Initially I answered "no," then loaded optimized defaults, saved then rebooted back to BIOS, only to be met with the same option of loading the previous values again. I answered "no" again and just saved then exited. During the whole process, the BIOS remained the same.
Thinking that maybe "no" was wrong, I re-flashed the BIOS (I think that was why the overwrite warning was shown) and did the whole process again. But this time I answered "yes" to loading previous values, then loaded optimized defaults, saved then rebooted back to BIOS. The same load previous values option appeared again and I just answered "no," saved it then exited. Again, no changes to the BIOS.
@Enab - Yes, I would be worried like that too if I was to get any kind of slight cold now, scary stuff!! Good to hear you are OK and it was not that!!
No, you did correct, you want to load optimized defaults and reboot. If by some glitch that’s causing some issue, you can try, but generally that just means "apply same settings you set before"
Ohh! I see issue, very sorry! Please download that file I posted for you again, delete whatever you have in your folder!!
I wrote command for you above to dump (-D) file instead of write/flash (-F), so you just dumped current file again and wrote over the one I sent you (and nothing was flashed)
Download file again at #483, and flash it in using this command, show me image of what happens with FPT >> FPTw.exe -a 0x452000 -l 0x52D000 -f MainDXEMod.bin
@Lost_N_BIOS - woohoo! Ya did it man! It’s already nice and changed.
Questions: I cannot locate the RGB control that you were referring to. May you point it out, please? Also, I just want to set XMP “on” for my RAM. Would really appreciate to be pointed in the right direction, as well.
--------------------
I forgot to upload the pic due to my excitement. Sorry.
@Enab - Sorry for the delayed reply! Nice, looks like we beat it finally! So, you have unlocked menu now correct? RGB? Ohh, maybe you mean Light Effect, check root of original old Advanced, it should be there.
XMP will be at New Advanced >> OverClocking Performance Menu >> Memory Overclocking Menu >> Memory Profile. XMP will only show up if your memory has XMP profile
@Lost_N_BIOS , I’ve been searching how to unlock such feature like FIVR so i found this forum, i had this unit machenike f117 v65, can you help me to unlock the bios? what application do i need? Because the undervolting in the throttlestop is locked and my laptop is building too much heat. Im using win10 ver2004 my laptop was affected on the recent microcode update . Need yourprofessional opinion thanks.
@Frixx - Please send me images of your BIOS advanced page top to bottom + one of Boot page too, put all this in a single zip (images + file from below)
Then do as you see in spoiler and let me know what error if any you get at step #2. I suggest you reset to default any changes you made with throttlestop and or XTU, then uninstall them, if you plan to make similar/same changes in BIOS
Additionally, please remove all BIOS passwords, disable secure boot, and disable TPM or Encryption if you have enabled. Do this before moving on to below
If you do not have Intel ME drivers installed, install them now from your system driver download page, then start over here after reboot.
Check your BIOS’ main page and see if ME FW version is shown. If not then > DOWNLOAD HWINFO64 HERE <
Once HWINFO is open, look at the large window on the left side, expand motherboard, and find the ME area.
Inside that section is the ME Firmware version. Take note of the version. (ie. write it down or get a screenshot)
Once you have that, go to the thread linked below, and in the section “C.2” find and download the matching ME System Tools Package for your system.
(ie if ME FW version = 10.x get V10 package, if 9.0-9.1 get V9.1 package, if 9.5 or above get V9.5 package etc)
> DOWNLOAD " ME System Tools " packages HERE <
Once downloaded, inside you will find Flash Programming Tool folder, and then inside that a Windows or Win/Win32 folder (NOT x64).
Highlight that Win/Win32 folder, then hold shift and press right click. Choose “open command window here” (Not power shell! >> * See Registry file below *).
If you get an error, reply to this post with a screenshot of it, OR write down the EXACT command entered and the EXACT error given.
((If “open command window here” does not appear, look for the “Simple Registry Edit” below…))
Step #1
Now you should be at the command prompt.
You are going to BACKUP the factory un-modified firmware, so type the following command:
Command: " FPTw.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin "
>> Attach the saved "biosreg.bin ", placed into a compressed ZIP/RAR file, to your next post!!! <<
Step #2
Right after you do that, try to write back the BIOS Region dump and see if you get any error(s).
Command: " FPTw.exe -bios -f biosreg.bin "
^^ This step is important! Don’t forget! ^^
If you get an error, reply to this post with a screenshot of it, OR write down the EXACT command entered and the EXACT error given.
Here is a SIMPLE REGISTRY EDIT that adds “Open command window here as Administrator” to the right click menu, instead of Power Shell
Double-click downloaded file to install. Reboot after install may be required
> CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD CMD PROMPT REGISTRY ENTRY <
If the windows method above does NOT work for you…
Then you may have to copy all contents from the Flash Programming Tool \ DOS folder to the root of a Bootable USB disk and do the dump from DOS
( DOS command: " FPT.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin " )
Hi @Lost_N_BIOS
Thanks for your kind assistance, I’d like just to disable the CFG lock on the CPU.
Machbiosorig.zip (4.91 MB)
@Frixx - You’re welcome! Are you needing to run MAC/OSX? If yes, then you’ll also want MSR 0xE2 edit correct? Sometimes BIOS setting for this does not always disable everything
What error did you get at step #2? Also, missing BIOS images of Advanced page (Root) from top to bottom, and Boot Page. Does your system have RGB Keyboard LED or only white?
Are you needing to run MAC/OSX? No
Sometimes BIOS setting for this does not always disable everything
What error did you get at step #2? None

Also, missing BIOS images of Advanced page (Root) from top to bottom, and Boot Page… – Actually i have no idea
Does your system have RGB Keyboard LED or only white? It is a RGB Keyboard
@Frixx - If you do not want to run MAC/OSX, then why disbale CFG lock? ANyway, OK, then no MSR 0xE2 edit needed, and you’ll just have enable/disable CFG lock in BIOS once menu is unlocked.
Thanks for the images, but sorry, I forgot to mention, I am on limited internet, please put those images in a max compressed zip, thanks.
Also, if you know how to edit image, please resize to 800-1000 px wide, I only need to see them for a second, so don’t need 2-5k image
That is only step #1 above, you need to do step #2 in spoiler and let me know if you get error or not, if so what error #

@Frixx - Nice, all is unlocked then, and nothing more you need to do to be able to flash in mod BIOS
Ohh man, that is VERY limited BIOS!! I wonder why there were so mean to customers like that?!?
OK, I will unlock BIOS for you now, give me about 10 minutes maybe
@Frixx - On your Main BIOS image, is that showing all, you can’t scroll down and see anything below “Memory Freq”?
Yeah it so very limited BIOS config. i dunno what make them decide on the kind of BIOS setup, i been searching some hidden setting like key to unlock the hidden setting but no luck
And the bottom part of the MAIN is the ME info, ME fw Verion and ME FW SKU
Yes, no reason to limit BIOS so much! Even in the visible menus they gave you, plenty of settings is hidden that should be user accessible
Thanks for the info on Main, I assumed you could see ME FW, but wondered about Lid Open option, but I now see this also in original Advanced, so I will make visible to you there.
I’ll edit menu so you have Main, original Advanced + Hidden Advanced, Chipset, and original Boot + hidden Boot, Exit
----------------------------
@Frixx - Here you go, flash it back via >> FPTw.exe -bios -f MachbiosUnlock.bin
https://ufile.io/ojzsjzvu
Some settings may be duplicated in places, I didn’t spend time to check, but you can set either place if you see this and it will be OK and same/same no matter where you set it from.
*** WARNING - To ANYONE with laptop and unlocked BIOS!!!
DO NOT try to enable this graphics card or disable that card, switch cards etc. Otherwise you will end up with no display output (ie black screen) and no way to recover except by blind flash or with flash programmer.
You can change graphics related settings, like changing memory sizes, or core speeds etc, just don’t try to disable one card or change which is main etc.
Additionally, be very careful when trying to undervolt CPU, you can leave BIOS unbootable due to CPU voltage too low (Sometimes even 0.05 is too much)
WARNING *** - This BIOS is user specific! If you are not user Frixx at Win-RAID.com forum, DO NOT USE THIS BIOS!!
If you do, and you are not Frixx, then you will loose your serial, UUID, OG NVRAM, and possibly LAN MAC ID as well.
You have been warned!!!
Hi
Im able to flash the bios and everything works well and thanks for your time and effort. I have some question, Is it okay to modify the configuration of the bios direclty (desired configuration) without showing in the BIOS section? Actually while waiting for the modified bios, im experimenting using this AMIBCP
@Frixx - You’re welcome! Great to hear all went smoothly, thanks for quick test and report back! So, you have new Advanced, Chipset, and you see new stuff in old/original Advanced too, correct? If yes, great, thanks for confirmation
I’m not quite sure what you’re asking there, can you please explain differently? Please note, I did not make any edits to this BIOS with AMIBCP, it may or may not be OK to edit the BIOS with AMIBCP, if you already have before and flashed it and it didn’t brick then all OK
