@Lost_N_BIOS - I attached a picture below. Could that be the EC FW chip? It is also near the motherboard chip. If it is, what chip ID should I use to read it?
@Enab - could be, read it and see. This is Gigadevice GD25LQ80 1.8V chip, so you need to use adapter - Use 1.34 software and exact ID
@Lost_N_BIOS - Ok, got it read. But then, after saving it, Iām not sure if it is correct, as the file looks too short (?). But who knows? I placed it below as an attachment.
GD25LQ80.zip (288 KB)
@Lost_N_BIOS - Hi. The manufacturer sent me 2 BIOS in zipped files. I donāt know which is which, so I just sent you both in the link below.
https://ufile.io/f/onrub
@Enab - I canāt say for sure, since name is clipped, but those files you uploaded look like maybe same package you downloaded twice (so windows added the (1) to the file name)
Please confirm, compare both zip in hex editor and see if itās a match, or compare each files MD5 checksum, if itās a match then same package. Let me know, then I will download other one if needed (For now, I only grabbed the one without (1))
Your 1MB chip dump looks OK, why do you say too short? But, this is Nvidia E4904 SKU 11 VGA BIOS, so not EC FW
Do you see any other similar chips? Look under heatpipes, may be hidden there, or below black stickers/tape, or under memory, wifi or NVME/M2 cards etc
On EC FW in package, as manufacturer how you are supposed to know which one is for you?
I see in change log notes >>
1.08.20 for IDO
1.08.70 for BR KB
Ask them how you know if you need IDO one or BR KB one. Also, since they are replying to you, ask them where the EC FW is located, and if itās in QFP package or SOIC
@Lost_N_BIOS - Oh. You are right. That was just a double download. Sorry. I downloaded the second one now and it has a different file name. I have placed it in the new link below.
I see. Welp, so it was for the graphics card. Nah, I was just thinking it was a much smaller package as compared to the usual BIOS that I was dumping, so I didnāt feel that it was right.
Ok, regarding the chip. I tried asking them about the chips on the motherboard, etc. But it appears that I wasnāt talking to anyone who was ātechā related. It seems that none of those that I spoke with knew the technical hardware of their product. The majority of those that I chatted with were adamant that it was just the BIOS (because thatās what was damaged, they said). Some of them even asked that I have the BIOS chip changed, while some even said that I just change the motherboard (!). In the end, they just told me to have the BIOS reprogrammed, and thus, they released the 2 files.
Of the 2 files, I think the first one (the one I downloaded 2x) is the one that was originally used on my computer because it was dated 3/27/2020, and I remember that was the date indicated in it. Then again, Iām sending you the other file too because they did send it and I donāt know why they did so. In addition, the first file is labeled 1.08 in its filename, while the second file is 1.18 - and I definitely remember that I saw 1.08 on the main page of my BIOS before. So Iām really thinking that all I need to program in is the BIOS connected with that. Anyway, I was thinking that if the computer runs on the BIOS they suppliedā¦well, who knows? Iām still hopeful that that is all it needs, and that the EC FW wasnāt affected (fingers crossed).
https://ufile.io/cm60dsjn
@Enab - So, they sent you two different packages? If yes, why, did they explain? Ohh, I see, I guess notā¦ I will check, yes, maybe itās just old/new version etc. Yes, one is 1.08 BIOS, and one has 1.08 EC FW, so you se1.08 for something before probably
Youāve already reprogrammed the BIOS many times, with the correct BIOS, and several that should have been booting. Especially the one you had on SOIC8 chip, that booted up but stalled, we should have carried on there, with that guy fixing that BIOS solder job on that chip.
But too late now, I am 100% sure the board itself needs repaired, and may not be possible if itās more than the blown trace because youād never know/find which IC is the voltage surge chip that blew out (this would be less rare though, generally the trace will blow instantly and this surge IC does not get hit)
EC FW may need fixed, is why I was thinking it only partially boot and then stalled on you with the SOIC8 in place and that BIOS back then
Yes, maybe, if trace wasnāt blown, a few new stock rebuild BIOS could possibly get it going on the WSON chip, but Iām certain the trace is blow out. Where is that image you said you had, with the WSON chip removed after this short happened?
@Lost_N_BIOS - Yes, thatās correct. Upon subsequent chat with them, I was told that one was old, and the other was new. And yes, I think the old one was what the computer had.
With all that has happened, I do have a question regarding your assessment. Since I only adjusted the timings and left the voltage on auto, do you think a blow out really happened? I mean, retrospectively, I think shtooka and I made the same mistake of adjusting the timings without adjusting the voltage - the reason for the failure of our laptops restarting. Thatās why I think I just need to set the BIOS straight. As well, on chat, the tech support on the other end kept on mentioning that the problem I had was just with the BIOS. So I was thinking, why did they think so? And that is why I was thinking that maybe I could just program the stock BIOS in it to straighten it out. And therefore ask, may I have your help in extracting the BIOS from what they sent? I do not know how to get it from the files they sent.
Regarding the WSON chip, is that the GPU chip you are referring to? I havenāt had anyone fix the BIOS solder job nor had any chip removed from it yet. I will have to bring it to a service center for those jobs if I fail to make it start when I program in the stock BIOS because I am not that knowledgable about hardware. Besides, understanding it is totally different from tinkering with it. I already wrecked it from setting it wrongly so I would rather have professionals fix the hardware rather than me. Until then, I guess Iāll just leave it alone for now and just wait for the stock BIOS that I am asking from you. Iāll test it and see where Iāll go from there, and keep you posted.
@Enab - Sorry, I confused your issue with another user, that had been replacing his BIOS chip many times and then shorted two BIOS pins accidentally with a rigged device.
So please forgive me and ignore all my comments about blown traces and BIOS chips etc
For your situation, only the BIOS or the EC FW would have changed, usually only the BIOS that stores the actual changes.
But I am not sure since what you changed causes corrupted data and then eventual BIOS corruption and bricking, so itās possible the EC FW was also written to during the initial power on attempts after that memory timing change.
Yes, tonight when I get in here I will make you a new BIOS to try from the stock
----------------
Edit - @Enab - Here, please first test SquareOne - This is stock FD/ME + your original BIOS region dump you sent me to unlock (That I later then unlocked for you).
This should put you back to square one, with original locked BIOS menu (then weāll unlock again once you are up and running) - OR, you can program in SquareOneUnlockedSH, this is same as above + the unlocked MainDXE that you flashed in to unlock the BIOS
EITHER one should = 100% Same, and should both be bootable, since you already 100% used both BIOS like that already
https://www.sendspace.com/file/o2vobu
If either fail, then you can try programming in 100% stock BIOS as-is as a test to show yourself this (BIOS) is not the only issue and probably EC FW also messed up
You were originally using BIOS N.1.06 - GKxMP5FxN106.BIN - From this folder of the files you sent >> intel_CML_8L_GK5MP5X_FX_5O_FO_Mechrevo_BIOS_N.1.06_EC_1.08.xx_20200327\BIOS\GK5MP5X\FlashUtil\Fpt
@Lost_N_BIOS - And there she goesā¦to the service center! Lol! I tried them all and, yup, I guess I did mess up the EC FW of the laptop. Anyway, thanks heaps man. You were so patient with me whereas I was the one who did this to myself. I just hope I did not blow anything up and it was just me corrupting the programs. But anyway, I brought the laptop to the service center. Iāll just update you as to their findings.
@Enab - So, neither BIOS worked? Did you redo the write, then dump to confirm the write manually? So, you could not find other chip that may be the EC FW?
Youāre welcome! So sorry we could not fix before you sent it off. Hopefully that is an easy process
Iām sure you cannot damage anything physically by changing the settings like you did in the BIOS, and if you never saw any smoke or smelled anything funky while programming then nothing damaged then either.
So, donāt let them tell you that you killed the CPU or something by changing memory timings, thatās not possible
Hi @Lost_N_BIOS. Sorry for the week late reply . Didnt have access to my laptop.
I have attached an image of the options.
@dinamo_909 - No worries, always behind here too
Here you go, flash it back via >> FPTw.exe -bios -f biosregm.bin

*** WARNING - To ANYONE with laptop and unlocked BIOS!!!
DO NOT try to enable this graphics card or disable that card, switch cards etc. Otherwise you will end up with no display output (ie black screen) and no way to recover except by blind flash or with flash programmer.
You can change graphics related settings, like changing memory sizes, or core speeds etc, just donāt try to disable one card or change which is main etc.
Additionally, be very careful when trying to undervolt CPU, you can leave BIOS unbootable due to CPU voltage too low (Sometimes even 0.05 is too much)
WARNING *** - This BIOS is user specific! If you are not user dinamo_909 at Win-RAID.com forum, DO NOT USE THIS BIOS!!
If you do, and you are not dinamo_909, then you will loose your serial, UUID, OG NVRAM, and possibly LAN MAC ID as well.
You have been warned!!!
Hi Lost_N_BIOS and fellow laptop enthusiasts. Iāve reuploaded the unlocked bios Lost_N_BIOS sent me. It is specific for my laptop so please follow his warnings and steps. I also finally got the EVOO gaming logo splash image properly formatted. It getās rid of the brand naming, and keeps the logo. AFAIK, you can throw it into the other EVOO gaming models (lp4,5,6). Logo is in jpg format here ā> https://ibb.co/wCrNM7q
Convert to .raw and refer to post #226.

I have a TongFang G5ICN5E From PCSpecialist LTD with the model Vyper 15, tried to make the mod myself but got lost in the steps so its better to leave it for the proĀ“s. Could you help me?
BIOS 1.03

Worked perfectly, you can add it to the list!
Thank you!
@fcg - Youāre welcome! Thanks for quick test and report back
Iāve stopped updating the list, thereās just too many of these Tonfang based variants to keep up with now Maybe some day when Iām bored and have time, I could add about 50+ more I assume
sorry
edit:created a new thread here:[HELP]unlocking lenovo thinkstation p310 bios using amibcp 5.02.0031 problem
Hi, Lost_N_BIOS
After reading most of these 2 threads I think its my time to write , since I dont know where to look for elsewhere.
I
ve got the 10th gen (idk if 9th gen ones are usable for me?) Intel Tongfang GM5MP0Y from a random Tongfang seller, which is equivalent to the Eluktronics Max-15(mine)/17 Convert line they sell.
Bios version is N.1.01
EC Version 1.13.00.100
Build and date time 07/11/2020
ME FW Version 14.0.31.1120
From my understanding and research there are a few versions of bios better than mine, but Eluktronics are not sharing them for whatever reason (up to N.1.10 I think?)
I was going to request if any forum user got it and is willing to share it (if that is possible since I see that you write its specific for every user) (or you Lost_N_BIOS have an access to it from the hundreds of BIOSes you tweak :D).

Otherwise I followed your guilde for the biosreg.bin file of my system and got it including with the picture of my 1st page of bios but I cannot upload them here since they are bigger than 6MB and system does not let me post links. I got them in a google drive folder if you are willing to help me unlock it.

I
m too scared to fiddle with it. Do you think I need the newer versions to unlock or is this one good enough? Will I be able to tweak things like RAM speed and timings, CPU Voltage (My current one is tweakable but maxed at -50mv) and Core clock etc.
Oh and also my last setting in the Advanced tab is Switchable Graphics, just before that is the CPU voltage.
Thanks alot for your help!
