Intel Management Engine (ME) Firmware Version 11.8.77.3664 (S&H)(1.5Mo)
just one question so i can troubleshoot other things, my Question is:
Does ME have to do anything with PCi-E speeds? do ME can cause slow or bugged out pci-e speeds like the one am having now , instead of16x gettting only 2x? just want to know so ican start to downgrade if ME has anything to do with pci-e sometimes
because as you can see, am only getting 2x speed on my pci-e 16x … do you think ME engine could be the harm of it all?
@akbaar - Did you update ME FW with ME FW update tool FWUpdLcl.exe? If yes, should be OK, but yes, it’s possible that some bug in that ME FW, and or driver package. You may not be able to downgrade without unlocked FD or flash programmer either.
If you did not update ME FW with FWUpdLcl.exe what exactly did you do, and how did you flash in the ME FW?
Pull out your card and blow the slot clean, clean the gold fingers on the card to be sure clean and reinsert, sometimes this helps. Also, I’d clear CMOS, reload optimal defaults in BIOS, save and reboot back to BIOS then make any other changes you want.
So, to answer you generally, yes, sometimes, but it would be unusual and you’d see others complaining about it where you download the ME FW/Driver package.
Also, if you have bent pins in the cpu socket you could lose lanes
yeah, thanks for the info, yeah i have flash programmer and had done it before multiple times haha just for fun,
i used the codes in the install.bat that comes with the files,

cpu pins might be bent ? hmmm i will remove cpu and check motherboard cpu socket pins too

Make sure that the CPU and GPU are seated properly (re-seat them) and that their sockets/slots are clean. You can use a can of compressed air for such cleaning. Download the latest SPI/BIOS image from ASUS, remove the AMI Capsule at the top via UEFITool NE and flash the output via the programmer, effectively re-applying the latest stock BIOS/CSME firmware from ASUS. Check if the problem is gone. If yes, proceed with updating the CSME firmware via FWUpdate tool. It should still be ok.
By the way, if you want to ask for help here, I expect you (and everyone else for that matter), to use the firmware, tools and instructions provided here. Not SD or other random sites because I don’t know what they package, what custom batch scripts they include etc.
