Performance drop and CRC errors (Solved)

I noticed a pretty big drop in performance after modding my Z87X-OC with this version, mostly on 4k read/write, just wondering if anyone else here has seen this?
Could very well be that they need the 12.7 drivers (using latest 12.6), i had to go back to 12.6.0.1867 SataDriver.

I have not seen anyone in the forums i visit that have this problem, but thought i would ask.

EDIT by Fernando: Thread title customized

Hello Pacman,
thanks for your interesting report.
Maybe there are not so many Intel Z87 RAID0 users, who had already updated the Intel RAID ROM resp. SataDriver.
Question:
How did you manage to solve the performance drop with the v12.7.0.1910 SataDriver? A replacement of the module seems not to be a solution of the problem itself.

The BIOS i was using till yesterday, it had the 12.6 OROM/SataDriver in original, that worked fine, modded with 12.7, perf drop.
But 2 days ago i got the very latest beta BIOS, but i haven’t had any time to try it until last night, and i left that unmodded with 12.6, as i thought it might be a driver thing, but decided to mod that anyway just (after posting) with 12.7 to test it,
and now 12.7 works great, infact somewhat faster than 12.6!
I really can’t say why, but, i’m happy

EDIT: just found another somewhat strange thing, i checked my SSD’s with Crystal diskinfo after i had installed Windows the first time on this setup, and they were fine,
but just checked them now, and one of them have CRC errors, so i don’t know if it’s dying on me or something is the matter with the motherboard?
Possibly one of the SATA Cables could be bad, i will replace both of them and see if the CRC errors stop.

Thanks for the feedback, which may help other users with an Intel 8-Series chipset RAID0 system, who are wondering about their performance.

Just an update, i replaced both SATA Cables with brand new ones for my SSD’s right after my last post, and the CRC errors have since completely stopped and performance is very good, so my conclusion would be that there never was a problem with the 12.7 ROM, but a glitchy Cable.
The Cable probably just got moved into a bad position when was poking around in the chassi clearing the cmos after flashing.
It seems more likely than that there would be such a big difference in performance between 12.6 & 12.7 ROM’s, but when it happened i wasn’t sure what the problem could be.

@ Pacman:
Thank you for your final resume.

I agree, old title would be completely misleading.
