Could anybod help me to fix the issue with SATA/SAS and NVMe cards in PCIe slot?
HW: ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe/Phenom II X4 945/DDR2 16GB/Samsung PM851 128Gb (OS),840Pro 256Gb (VMs)/Quadro FX570
The PC works as an Active Directory Controller (Windows Server) and vmware workstation (5x 32bit vms) for quite a while.
I need to move here the RAID1 shared volume (2xWD2003FYYS, from another server), but the motherboard currently has an issue with any SATA/SAS (and NVMe) card installed in any PCIe slot. RAID1 on integrated controller is not good (less than 50Mb/s on write)
How the issue looks like:
a) Adaptec 5405 - OS boots fine if there are no ANY hdd/ssd connected to it; any drive connected - Adaptec BIOS is fine, then very long OS boot, the card does not work, no drives in DevMgr
b) OCZ RevoDrive3 - OS boot fine, SSD read - fine, SSD hangs on any write
c) Samsung 950Pro/NVMe->PCIe adaptor - PC hangs after POST, no way to enter BIOS until removing the SSD.
Tested with 1802AM3 (unofficial mod, don’t know who made it - found reference in one of the forums, then googled the file a while ago) and with 5001 (official ASUS) BIOS - the same issues.
Any other official BIOS (even the latest 1804) does not support my CPU (945) on this MB.
Could anybody help me to fix the SATA/SAS issue? Possibly, to update 1804 bios with Phenom 945 support and/or update nForce 570 code to the latest version???
