Possibility to tear/switch OFF electrically the BIOS SPI flash from PC platform

Has some of you ripped out the BIOS SPI flash from the motherboard when PC is running under OS?

Or, simply to execute BIOS and at the end while BIOS passes control to OS boot-loader, other BIOS thread to switch OFF (from power supply) the flash?

Has somebody done this experiment?

Could be the damages incurred to the motherboard?

Thank you,
nobody

Yes i did it on my Alienware M17X-R2 M11x-R1 and on my latitude 14 rugged they shut down immediately as i disconnected write protect pin 3 on the spi flash. Even i just want to achieve the full HW write protection of spi flash just as i did long time ago on DIP32 and PLCC32 bioses with the disconnection of pin 31. If you aiming to do "hot swap like flash" like old time its not going to work now as the spi chip is in constant use.
