[Problem] Bricked ASUS ROG GL702VM BIOS after WU

Hello @lfb6, I wanted to know if you could take a look at my binary files (dumps of the 3 BIOS chips on my GL702VM laptop) and tell me if you find anything abnormal that prevents the computer from booting (black screen, fans spinning at full speed)?
PS: The computer was in BIOS version 305 before a BIOS update via Windows update was launched, and after that, it was no longer able to boot.
Here are the dumps of the 3 chips attached :

  • W25Q64FVS1Q (8Mo)
  • W25Q80DVS1G (1Mo)
  • W25Q80EWN1G (1Mo))

thanks for advance.

Seems this is an old issue you have… on Badcaps.

Rebuild a 310 file with 2nd pad transferred from your dump.
The Asus files are only Bios region so it needs to add to top of it, the dumped 0x220000 (2175Kb).
As an option, you may also clean the CSME fw engine and/or replace with factory empty NVRam volume.
As advised already in BC, i wouldn’t touch the EC as the system responds to PSW, Leds and charge.

We don’t even know if they are indeed your original dump or web collected…so take it as you want.
That’s it, nothing more to add. You may wait for others users POV.
