[Problem] Gigabyte Aero 16 BSF - No option to disable secure boot

Hello, I just recently bought a new Gigabyte Aero 16 BSF laptop that comes with preinstalled Windows 11. I am trying to create a multiple boot partitions on it since finally i have a decent machine, so i can play around and learn some new stuff, and i was able to keep win11 and add ubuntu & opensuse, but when i tried adding Kali linux or Manjaro, i am receiving an error. I do not have pictures currently on hand, but i can provide them if needed. The error is secure boot stopping manjaro/kali installation from starting.

I did go through all of the settings in the BIOS and didn’t find an option to ‘disable secure boot’. The only option that exists and mentions secure boot is something like “Remove all secure boot variables”. I also checked on the internet and wasn’t able to find this exact model of laptop and someone reporting this issue, and in all other issues that i found, it was mainly something like “secure boot option disabled” and person needed to switch bios mode from uefi to legacy/bios, and i do have an option to check bios mode, and its a dropdown, but only uefi exists. Nothing else.

Also as some additional notes i checked that my bios version is FS04 and that on the official gigabyte website there are 2 newer versions available (FB07 & FB08), but i am not sure if this will even help and i don’t am not sure how to even do it and am afraid to screw something up on a brand new laptop.

Any advice would be welcomed, and feel free to ask for pictures, i can provide them if needed.

Thank you in advance

These options tend to go away as modern systems and security measures are implemented… not so big surprise here.
Unloading the oem/factory/default keys for secure boot should be the only option here and/or using something like Rufus for booting, loading or not his own EFI boot certificate.
Some options may be hidden/grey without a bios Admin password, regarding security options, not present in all systems of course…

Hey @MeatWar thanks for the quick response.

There is an option to set admin password for bios, and i did read online that in some cases if admin password is set more options will show, but that is not the case here. I did set it, and when i enter bios, and write the password, its all the same as it was.

I am not sure i understood you correctly, what you’re saying is that if i ‘Delete all secure boot variables’ it will disable secure boot?

A side question, should i try updating the bios, can that show additional settings?

This is a link for a gallery of images of bios and error messages

It differs from OEMs, so in your case its null from Gigabyte.

They won’t be “Deleted”… unloaded only, again it differs from OEMs.

Also try Ventoy for loading the ISO
