Hello good day.
Long story short. i unlocked the bios using SREP and switched the setting “Special display features Enable/Disable HybridGraphics” from “HybridGraphics” to “disabled”
this has bricked the laptop. it does not boot on internal or external display…
i have tried flashing known good roms from both lenovo and from forum posts and reflashed it to the chip.
but still no boot. the device turns on and cpu heat’s up. but no post/boot. no display on internal or on HDMI output.
The original serial is PF2KJR1J and bios version was FCCN21WW.
Board has the following info printed on it “GY535/GY536” with board ID of NM-D191 / NM-D19 Rev 1.0
RYZEN 5 4600u and 1650 (ti? not sure)
Edit by Fernando:
Thread title customized and moved into the “BIOS Modding Problems” Forum Category
System needs a full SPI IC progamming, no regular know methods will fix it, NVRAM stays residual, let this be a lesson for all users and its often explained in the forum, these settings are tied up to the PCH, never disable iGPU on modern platforms.
Original system data needs to be read from current SPI IC, get a full expanded firmware region, edit/merge original system data, clean CSME region, flashing with programmer.
Look in the forum if there’s a shared fw image, usually Lenovo files are only update files not suitable for programming.
There’s no specific or dedicated guides on a full operation and this is not something to expalin and train on a forum, search, read and learn if you decide to engage.
Don’t have experience in this…get it to a tech it shop for full re-program, you know how it works…2019 user, so good luck.
So NVRAM on modern AMD platforms are not stored in the SPI rom anymore?
How do you mean “full SPI IC programming”? i got a CH341 flasher here. is that not a full SPI IC programming when rewriting the SPI rom?
i have found a few bios dumps on another forum but had no boot yet with that either.
… take a look under the N key on the keyboard… maybe its there…lol
Glad to hear that… did you mentioned you had one or do we have to assume that all users have one?
Thats all from me…over_n_out, good luck.
anyways. laptop fixed. another user helped me with “serializing” a lenovo rom and i’ve flashed it using a CH341.
system works fine now. minus DGPU since fried voltage controller chip.
Nvram on amd boards is also still stored in spi chip.
