Hi everyone,
I’m currently trying to update the BIOS on my Gigabyte Z690M AORUS ELITE DDR4 rev 1.0 motherboard, but I keep encountering the “OEMID mismatch” error. I’ve already tried the shell method mentioned on this forum but had no success. Now I’m considering using a CH341A programmer to reflash the BIOS chip. This will be my first time doing this — is there anything I should be mindful of before I begin?
Bios chip is MXIC MX25L25673G4l - 08M
Thanks in advance!

Since you have no programmer experience, i suggest first to search some details on the forum:
Search results for ‘gigabyte OEMID mismatch’ - Win-Raid Forum
By the way… this model has a Bios (Q-Flash Plus Button), an offline operation with USB disk.
EDIT: Oh…and you didn’t remembered that was a custom system/bios, to mention in your initial post… any user trying to help has to “guess” it rigth…
If you’re comming here with a “general” worldwide know motherboard name, anyone will assume its a retail motherboard and not a PC system.
Now start looking for the term “cross flash” and “CH34” on the forum seatch box
Yea I did have a try at the Q lash thing but it didn’t work. I reached out to gigabyte support and they confirmed it’s a custom bios now my only option is to reprogram using the ch314a.
