[Problem] Shuttle SX79R5 hangs while booting in UEFI mode

hi Guy´s (first of all i hope my english isnt to bad )

my question is

i have an shuttle SX79r5 with the latest bios

its running

Windows 10 Pro 22h2

intel Xeon e5 2650v2

16gb of Kingston Ram

and an GTX980 Founders Edition With the latest GOP

But the problem is in UEFI mode the system Hangs ages on the startup screen

before it boots windows ,this wont happen on legacy mode

and only if the GTX 980 of an R9 270x is installed

with an old quadro FX 3800 this wont happen

so i thought its a problem with the GOP of my Nvidia GPU but updatet it an its still happends

is it possible that the bios of my shuttle is missing some module or has module that are to old or something ?

(ps: i hope im in the right portion of the Forum  )

Greetings!

So to recap, you did update the gpu gop for both GTX 980 and R9 270x, and your pc just hangs up in UEFI mode?

has this happened in older release bios for the motherboard?

Both card where already on the latest GOP and i dont know if this happens on older bios refs of the mainboard is it possible that something in the newer bios is wrong ?

Maybe try to downgrade to a bios lower than current bios, and see if UEFI works fine.

ok just now i try´d SX79R000.200 and its the same problem

but i found out that shuttle had the same problem as i with some quadro Cards an adressed that in an even older update (SX79R000.111)

dont know whats cousing that :frowning:

Do you have a gpu vbios dump + gpuz screenshot of the gpus that you want to use with this system?

ok the bios dump of the gtx 980 founders edition (its the card that i wont in that system long therm

It is already the latest, hmm, i wonder, is your drive that handle the OS has been running on GPT or MBR?

Do you also have the option in the bios named “CSM Parameter” or something similiar to that?

i only have UEFI and Legacy Boot option in bios and My drive´s are in GPT

There’s a EVGA GeForce GTX 970 ACX 2.0 (GTX780 and 680 also) on the compatibility list… so it sounds unusual such delay, but could be specific GPU card model/brand compatibility issue…
How does the system behave if booting only with the GTX980 and no disks attached, do you also observe delays?

EDIT: Strange indeed, is there any mPCIe devices attached? Different RAM combinations just to check behaviour? Just for curiosity…how time in seconds?

EDIT: Damm…a bunch of NVidia gpus…wow!!! Hard to track/debug this… maybe other bios module/driver is messing with NVidia cards… try to mod and update it, with UBU, good luck.

its exactly the same

and i have to diferent GTX 980 founders cards and with both card the same error

and just forgot the same problem is happening with 3 GTX 760 card ( on 2 zotac´s and on inno3d) i´ll test with other ram and time the bootup  (after dinner )

and there are no mPcie cards in

ok Boottest with other ram (still 16gb )

Same also with my second gtx 980

90 to 93 second´s till Windows logo

persistent ,boot after boot

What… 1,30m that’s way too long… what a peculiar issue, really dont know what to tell you…since this is happening with a bunch of NVidia models gpu cards…

So im not the only on with that problem ?

is there a way to see if somehow an missing or too old module in my bios ?

so that the newish GOP in my GPU is to new for my bios or something ?

Sir…i didn’t said none of that

With what base’s should anyone say that… could be anything.
Sorry i dont have any clues in order to you to follow… ask Shuttle their PoV.

ok these can be closed Mainboard wont turn anymore at all

thanks for all your help

im now searching for an fitting alternative with socked 2011v2

How? Just died?

I realy dont know :frowning:

i tested a bios from Tris what worked realy good (fast boot and so far realy stable under load and after my test it set on the desktop and froze then i reset it an now it wont turn on at all
