[Problem] Win7 running with NVIDIA P106-100 GPU

Hello, I can’t get the p106-100 to work on Windows 7. At first, my Windows 7 system was in MBR. When I plugged in the p106-100, I got error code 12 on the integrated graphics, and the system would boot with 16-bit colors and poor graphics. Then, after reading about this issue, I successfully managed to get Windows 7 working in GPT with CSM disabled. But now, if I plug in the p106-100, it gets stuck indefinitely on the ‘Starting Windows’ logo, and the LEDs keep blinking endlessly as well:

That is not a GPU issue. Probably did something wrong with the drivers? What are the specs?

Hi, no, it’s definitely not a video card problem. Of course, on Windows 8 and Windows 10 everything works — I tested it with a Live USB.

Set proper IP address when P106 is not plugged. Use mstsc.exe to connect to it. Check the Device Manager if the iGPU has code 12, and what’s the resource of both graphics cards. If you can use RWEverything, you can check their configuration space data.

If both graphics are requesting VGA resources (memory A0000 etc), try this dxgkrnl.sys.

Hi, I patched dxgkrnl.sys, but unfortunately it didn’t help — it still hangs on the “Starting Windows” screen. But there are changes: the balls stopped blinking after a while, and I was just hoping it would load, but it didn’t load (

may try mstsc.exe to get some information.

Hi, I tried for a while to work on it with Claude AI — I sent it the logs, changed registry parameters on its advice, and so on — but it didn’t help. I’d need someone who understands this better than I do, someone who would try to do it and explain how they did it, following a guide.

Hi, it seems the whole issue is that UEFI emulation on Windows 7 is poor. Maybe there’s a way then to make the card work without UEFI in regular Legacy mode? In regular Legacy mode the card does work and gets detected, but on the integrated Intel HD Graphics there’s Code 12 — not enough resources — and also Windows 7 in this case runs in 16-color mode.
