[Problem] XP Installation on Intel B250 Chipset PC

Hi, I need a Windows XP x86 image that will install on my PC (Intel B250 chipset, i5-7500 CPU, SATA SSD). Every attempt gives BSOD 0x0000007B. Could someone share or point me to a ready XP ISO that works with this hardware? Thanks! Or just what drivers i need?

Ask Fernando, direct reply to any of his message so he will notice.

To be able to help you, I need the HardwareIDs of the related AHCI/RAID Controller of your mainboard.

Please stop posting absolutely unneeded comments/information.
I have deleted the thread, where you asked for a completely customized XP Image. We are trying to help, but do not offer complete original or customized Windows Operating Systems.
Edit: You can find a matching Intel AHCI driver named “Generic 32bit Intel AHCI textmode driver v11.2.0.1006 mod+signed by me” within the initial post of >this< thread.

@wyz3all
How did you check the HardwareIDs?

device manager —→ ahci 1.0 serial ATA controller —> hardware ids

@wyz3all
Is Windows XP already running or are you still trying to get it installed?
What lets you think, that it is the AHCI driver, which has caused the BSOD?
Edit: Since your problem is a Windows XP specific one, I have created a new thread within the “Windows XP” Forum Category and moved all posts of our recent discussion into it. You can change the thread title at any time by editing its initial post. It would be a good idea to mention the manufacturer and model of your mainboard.
Good luck!

Hi Fernando,

Thank you for your help earlier.

I’m trying to install Windows XP on an Intel 200-series board (DEV_A282, Kaby Lake).

I integrated your modded RST v11.2 driver (added the A282 line manually) and also copied iaStor.sys and iaAHCI.inf manually via WinPE. Registry keys under Services\iaStor are set (Start=0, ImagePath=system32\drivers\iaStor.sys, etc.).

To continue testing, I installed Windows XP directly onto an SSD and then used WinPE on another PC to access and modify the XP system files and registry from there.

Now I’m stuck with BSOD 0x7B after the ACPI issue (0xA5) was solved.

I’ve read that the ACPI 6666 by Harkaz patch might fix this, but I can’t find a working version — Patch Integrator refuses to accept it, and others still crash.

Could you please tell me which ACPI version works best for XP on Intel 200-series (A282), or point me to a known good source/thread for the proper acpi.sys?

Thank you very much for your time and all your work on these modded drivers.

P.S.

I’ve tried again using your Generic 32bit Intel AHCI textmode driver v11.2.0.1006,

but unfortunately I still get the 0x7B (INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE) error on boot.

if you’re still stuck and trying to find a suitable driver then try other utility like east2boot its most likely injecting the needed driver using the E2B+DPMS (DriverPack Mass Storage) so its automatically install the prepared driver. .

The correct name of the tool is “easy2boot”.
