[Question] Delete Secure boot variables

How’s it going, community?!

I need help understanding an option in the BIOS of an Aorus 15P XD laptop. I’ve already done my research, but I couldn’t find a clear answer.

The option in question is “Delete All Secure Boot Variables.” I need to use it to test variable changes that would unlock voltage control and slightly improve temperatures.

My concern is that if I delete them, I’m not sure whether it could corrupt anything in the laptop, and if after making the change, I’ll still be able to boot the OS without issues.

The BIOS version is FE02 (which cannot be flashed using the corresponding utilities). I already tried making the change without enabling this option, but I was unsuccessful, and it’s clearly mandatory to disable it.

Thanks for any help or information!

This option indeed deletes all secure boot variables, but not the keys. You can get the variables back from keys at any time by loading defaults.
You won’t notice a change in os booting with secure boot disabled.

Alright then, I can try the unlock option by first deleting the Secure Boot variables. Then, whether I’m successful or not, I can restore them.

I wanted to confirm this because I read on Reddit that if, for some reason, the laptop boots into the OS while in setup mode, it could cause an issue.

Thanks for the information!
