Thinking of going RAID for the HDD element of my SSD / HDD setup.
Currently using a single 1TB (used) HDD.
With a deal on some more recent 500GB, thinking of a 4 drive set, in either:
Raid 10 / 1+0 - for 1TB total and no parity calculation.
Raid 5 - for 1.5TB but I gather the CPU has to do the parity calculation - much overhead?
Secondly, do I hurt the SSD performance if the controller is in RAID rather than AHCI
