hi
first post here and hope you can help
i have a rampage iv with bios 4503 and a raid 0 installed in uefi mode in Windows 8.1 x64
in bios in rst tab i have 12.7.0.1936 rom, but if i press crt+i i have 3.5.0.1005 rom (its legacy rom right?)
so i would like to know if i need any rst driver in Windows to have trim in raid 0
if so which should i install? in you driver área you have rst 12.XXX not for X79? can i use intel site 12.8.0.1016 drivers? and last should i install the .exe file or just f6 drivers and force install those?
sorry if it is confusing , but english is not my native language
thanks for any help
@ darkage:
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
You obviously have installed Windows 8.1 in UEFI mode onto the RAID0 array, which had been created by the RST UEFI SataDriver v12.,7.0.1936 BIOS module…
This means, that the Intel SATA RAID Controller of your X79 Chipsaet mainboard, which originally has the DeviceID DEV_2826, has been switched to an “Intel(R) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller” with the DeviceID DEV_2822. Consequently you can use all original Intel RST drivers v12.x.x.xxxx.
This is what I recommend to do:
- Enter the BIOS and disable the “Force Option OROM” option. This will shorten the boot time.
- Download the Intel RST(e) Drivers & Software Set v12.8.6.1000 WHQL from >this< site and install it.
- After having rebooted, run the Intel RST Console software and enable the Write-Back Caching feature.
- Check the TRIM activity within your RAID0 array by using one of the TRIM tests you can find >here<.
