Hi
I need some help understanding the CH341A.
as you can see the MXIC 25L512E is not listed in the CH341A and I am only able to extract 65536 bytes…
can I put in 8388608? since an extracted dell bios is "8,388,608 " bytes… so I not sure how to proceed
I am extracting from a NEW Dell X51 R3 motherboard.
Thanks in advance. I am new to this still learning.

Each of 25L512 chips is 64 kbytes.

You’re on the wrong chip!
MXIC 25L512E is 512 kbit = 64 kByte, the flash program is completely correct here!
ALWAYS check the datasheet befor flashing!
ALWAYS make a valid backup before overwriting a SPI chip!

Seems to me that the firmware for an Alienware X51 R3 has 16 MByte? Bios region is 8MB, but I don’t think it has it’s own chip?
Ok I finally located the chip.

To reach with the clip I have to cut off part of the RAM holder…
The SPI connector is there so I have to figureout how to make the cable.
I have to trace the clip to understand which wire goes where.
Update thanks to all that helped me.
SPI header does not allow reading the chip:
I got the 2.00 MM to 2.5MM jumper wires
But the CH341 refused to read because on that SPI jumper the
CS pin from Pin 1 of the IC is not connected to the SPI.
So what I did was to cut the memory holder. Put on the clamp and I can read the chip.
