Recommendations for a Biostar TPower i45 on Windows 10

Hello there!

Yesterday I upgraded to Windows 10 on my PC, and would like to know what driver combination would be the best to optimize the performance of my SSD+HDD on AHCI for the new OS.
I haven’t had any problems so far with it, only that boot time got a little slower than on Windows 8.1 which bugs me a little, and makes me wonder if i’m not using the optimal software for my hardware.
I have it on SATA 2 (my M/B is old and does not support SATA 3) and I know it might affect performance. I don’t want it to work like it was on SATA 3, only that it works as when I had Windows 8.

My specs are:

I know my M/B supports only SATA II and I know that can affect performance, and I know my SSD isn’t that great. I just want them to work as fast as they did on Windows 8.1.
I currently have installed Fernando’s modded 11.2.1006. I have tried a myriad of different drivers but haven’t noticed too much of a difference.

Thank you very much guys! If you need any additional info let me know

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

Since every system is different, you will have to find out yourself, which is the best AHCI driver for your Intel ICH10R SATA AHCI Controller. If you should not be satisfied with Microsoft’s in-box AHCI driver, you can compare it with the Intel RST driver v11.2.0.1006 WHQL or/and with the Intel RST(e) driver v11.7.4.1001 WHQL.
Since the performance differences between the AHCI drivers generally are not even noticeable, you should pay more attention to the stability of your system, when you compare the drivers.

Good luck!
Dieter (alias Fernando)

Thank you very much Fernando, your forum’s great!
