Some background:
It’s a project in a way, got a 110 hp for 10eur, no hdd… opened it up to clean and reapply the thermalpaste, and noticed it had pcie mini port unpopulated. Found board layouts and components missing in a pdf from bad caps forum, populated the board, (also noticed in the pdf that i could opt the existing 8105 to a 8111 and i did soldered one from a donor board (and windows sees it, but cant find drivers (old win7) this should be a easy solution)).
Navigated the bios with h2oeze chipset has 4 inbuilt pci lanes, they are not disabled in the bios. (maybe a x1 pcie output for an external videocard in the future :D)
Now I’ve got a logic board with:
an extra pcie mini port;
100mb network chip swapped to a 1gb;
I’ve also Ordered a d525 atom cpu for it (best one that i could find that fits).
I’ve tryed booting with a oem wifi card in the second slot and got a error saying its not whitelisted (but the slot phisically works!!!).
whishlist:
+1 remove wifi card whitelist
2 add ssd msata boot support (might even work after the white list is removed…)
+3 add d525 atom cpu microcodes (futureproofing)
4 remove 2 gb ram mem cap/increase to 4 (d525 maxes out at 4)
+5 unlock advanced menus (unlocked access to bios myself, need to investigate further submenu unlocking)
attached my current usable dump, setup menu irf and the menu dump itself.
Have a ch341, so I can brick it as many times as I want.
What I’ve figured out so far:
1Bios has a cut up version of rams spd (I did flach the ram stick and the bios to 99924cl)
2currently non active members in bios mods forum this thread have some writeups on how the whitelist is removed
