Hi i have a acer aspire 5315. I installed a T9500 CPU. It has the Intel 965 Express Chipset
i have installed 6 gb of memory the bios shows only 1 gb of memory and windows acknowledges 5 gb. is it posible to modify the bios to show the installed amount of memory. Thanks in advance
This is no bios mod related, it’s related to quality, brand, model of the SO-DIMMs used and conjunction of both modules that differs.
6Gb DDR2 max if i recall correctly…on this old system.
My PoV only…wait for other users.

No need, i know well the laptop model, one the main issues with pairs of SO-DIMMs is often the Rank/Dual row/Single or Double sided, etc…
The memory is one 4gb stick of crucial and one 2gb samsung. The machine is an old one but it still works quite well. It originally only had only two gb of memory and was advertised as having 1 gb. The video memory allocation screen in the bios is locked I can provide pics if that helps
