I would like to overclock my ram on my Alienware M16 R1 AMD, but I can’t since the bios is locked.
I am on the latest bios version 1.13.1.
Here is the link for the bios: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=2ww2y&oscode=w2021&productcode=alienware-m16-r1-amd-laptop
Smokeless_UMAF worked up until version 1.2.2 for using a bootable usb to access hidden bios settings, but it was patched unfortunately, so I think a bios mod is the only option left.
I can donate $60 for a bios unlock if someone can do it for me.
Thank you.
Wow this is the only post where I’ve seen anyone with an AMD processor having similar issues I have tried Smokeless UMAF buy gave up but then i saw this post saying it used to work with the AMD so at lest i know there is something hidden somewhere in that case (i gave up entirely on the thought that UMAF was even compatible with the AMD CPUs, so thats at least some gd news) i have the m18r1 model with a 7945hx and 4090 and its powerful but I’m a little upset that dell didn’t give us the same bios capability they made for the intel CPUs so it really makes it so tough to squeeze through to make it easier for us have those setting the best thing i could do and actually did was repasting direct liquid (Conductonaut Extreme of course be careful!!!) metal which gives me amazing thermal performance my CPU is floating in 45c idles now where they were at 90s so I’m way happier with that upgrade but that’s it now I’m just stuck with the 1.16.0 win95 looking interface which is outrages for what i expected all laptops to have (upgraded but for their best model) since i bought one 10 years later and their in the same spot seriously sad very sad I’ve seen one other post with RU.efi but im still getting used to that kind of area of expertise so ya i made another request hopefully we/I get some responses or something hopefully this processor is still in competing range as some serious ones so don’t want to give up on it yet I’ve always leaned towards intel CPUs but I’m surprised with the AMD series too now so yeah gd stuff
