I’d like to be able to turn HPET off in the BIOS. I am running the latest firmware 1003. I have searched all over but have only found other versions of the Z490 but not the E edition.

Eeprom Protect

Error 167: Protected Range Registers are currently set by BIOS, preventing flash access.
Please contact the target system BIOS vendor for an option to disable
Protected Range Registers.

FPT Operation Failed.

We can correct this editing the NVRAM Variables , but there is way to flash it by by bios flashback button …
So download the bios mod and place saved bios file into usb flash and re-flash by bios flashback button, to check if it’s possible :
