[Request] Asus S14NA-U12 BIOS modding

Hi all,

I am trying with all I can to enable PCIe bifurcation on Asus S14NA-U12 board. Setting exists and manual states that it is possible to switch from x16 to x4x4x4x4. Since the setting is hidden, I used the guide bellow to find what I need to modify in BIOS

I need to disable this SuppressIf so that PCIe setting show in BIOS

I successfully modified the BIOS but I cant flash it since it complains around signature

Can you help me with this ?

Im sure that you know that usually official methods/tools won’t work with modified bios files…the Bios vendor doesn’t “like it” neither the OEM vendor… and a modern UEFI bios environment.
So, what methods did you try?
What official methods does the system board support, system jumpers, BMC options etc…
Do you have an SPI IC programmer and/or access to the SPI header with dupont cables…presumably by now you already made FULL backups/dumps/reading of those 2 ICs
Are both socks removable?
These are the kind of details that should be provided in such system board kind and operations done… on such request on a forum.

I used the UEFITool to extract, modify and insert back the changes that modified the file signature.

I tried using ASMB11-iKVM BMC to do BIOS Forced update and BIOS OOB Update but both didn’t want to start because of the signature. I also tried EZ Flash inside BIOS that also didn’t work for the same reasons.

This is my first time trying this so I have no previous experience.

Unfortunately I have 3 expensive servers that I cant use because of the low quality factory BIOS.

It also wont turn off the Secure Boot option even if it states that it is off so I cant boot custom EFI either.

I don’t have SPI IC programmer.

Are there any other methods I can try ?

We never encourage users with expensive/priority assets to engage and actions that can lead to a “death” system, it will remain his choice only.
The kind of system board presented and being a user without any experience on similar actions, its definitely not good any encouragement given.

Bios mods can lead to several try outs and the user should know/have the tools to recover.
If in this case, its a priority subject to you, i advise you first of all to get an SPI IC programmer and make backups od the 2 main ICs and others around the board that can be read.

A programmer will not care for any signature but must use main data out of any CAPSULE file.

Asus features like USB recover using CrashFree Bios 3 and/or EZ usually wont kick up after a failded bios mod flashing

Maybe you can get in touch with a more experienced friend to help on this
Wait for others users POV
Good luck.
