[Request] Bios mod for GA-Z68AP-D3 (rev 1.0) to activate Trim in RAID 0

Thank you very very much Lost_N_BIOS.
I will test the new mod bios and come back with feedback a.s.a.p.
Thank you again for your time and for your patience with me.

I am already on uefi bios UA9 beta stock from gigabyte support website.
This new modded bios from you, i’ll flash with Q FLASH over the bios that i have.

Yes if you are already on UEFI BIOS, you can just Qflash BIOS in

Hi, i write the mod bios from you with Qflash over the UA9 and everything is good but after restart my motherboard start in bootloop mode and restart after the beep. What can i do now?

@EDECAT - Very sorry to hear this!! I suspect it may be the RST edit, I had issue w/ this on Asus board this week too (needed to use MMTool 5.07 instead of 4.50)

Without flash programmer like CH341A + SOIC8 test clip with cables, there is PSU power switch method that may work (or you can live short board, which I do not suggest, get programmer instead it’s cheap)
Here is power supply trick (method 1-2) - https://www.overclockers.com/forums/show…te-motherboards
Also, alternate PSU method in detail here - https://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?topic=13289.0

Here’s what you need if you can’t get it going
CH341A - https://www.ebay.com/itm/332735579991
SOIC8 test clip w/ cable - https://www.ebay.com/itm/382486015977

Once recovered, we will redo the edits one at a time (and I will use 5.07 for the RST), this way we find the issue.
It could be the microcode edit method too, those are inserted very oddly in this BIOS.

Hi,
after writing your UA9 bios mod over UA9 already installed, I managed with the power button reset method to do bios recovery. I wrote bios legacy and the pc ran ok. I wrote your bios UA9 again and did not come back from bootloop. The only method that I have not yet done and which I have seen that you do not encourage is short pin1 and pin 6.

Doesn t work :

i will buy
CH341A - https://www.ebay.com/itm/332735579991
SOIC8 test clip w/ cable - https://www.ebay.com/itm/382486015977

@EDECAT - So you recovered it, and then again wrote the BIOS you known was bad… again?? WHY??? Power button recovery works usually, but you have to get it just right (as indicated by your first comment above, sounds like you got it once)
DO NOT Flash that BIOS I sent you again!! I will make you a new one, sorry I did not put one up already, I was waiting for you to have programmer since I assumed you would order one, or let me know once you recovered back to other BIOS via recover methods.

I planned to send you BIOS modified one step at a time, so we could be sure of the cause of the issue
I do think I know, RST as mentioned but not 100% certain, it could be the ucode edit as well, or even the NVME insert, hard to say and this is why going forward I’d like to do in steps so we find the cause and do it differently.
This BIOS and all requested mods requires special editing methods (lots of dancing around, multiple software/versions and special order etc), so it’s tricky edit
If you want, I can send you BIOS now to try, if you can get recovered again, without the RST change, then if OK we know it’s due to what I mentioned above and I will redo that differently in next BIOS.

OK,
thank you,
these days I try again to do the recovery with buttons,
I’m waiting bios for testing,

@EDECAT - Use stock BIOS to reflash to latest once recovered via PSU method again. Then once you are recovered I will make step by step BIOS edits for you
I may get done in meantime as time permits, but I don’t have any made right now, but don’t let that stop you from trying to get going again

Do I need to mod the BIOS for the GA-Z68AP-D3 (rev 2.0) in order to use a Samsung 970 EVO NVME with a PCIE adapter if I am on the UEFI beta BIOS? Not for booting but just for storage.

@icecreamman - if you are not using the NVME to boot from, you can use old or new BIOS, does not need mod for either type of BIOS.

Hello, Lost_N_BIOS, looking to understand, I have a motherboard GA-Z68AP-D3 (REV 1.0) and I just got a Samsung eco 970 name, and would like to boot from it, but as it is I cannot… I heard that is possible to flash to a UEFI bios from rev 2.0 ua9, or do I need a modified bios. Thanks much…rgards

Is it possible to have the modified GA-Z68AP-D3 (rev 2.0) BIOS re-uploaded?
Or re-made with all option roms updated to their recommended version?

I grabbed one here for my other ASUS P8Z68-V PRO (gen1) here, you guys are amazing :D!
It uses ISRT 15.9.X.X, I thought for that generation you shouldn’t go past 12.9, but, it’s working great! Including RAID-5 SSD Acceleration!

The latest bios for the GA-Z68AP-D3 (rev 2.0) is UA9…
