Hi there, I wanted to upgrade Bios on the HAIER Y11C laptop. I tried the Universal Bios Backup 2.0 to make a backup but it says can not identify bios. So I searched the internet for a bios and I found this MN116 MB V3.0, I am trying to attach the file, but as a new user I can’t :(. but you can search on the internet But I really need help I have two of these laptops same model y11c both have keyboard problems
(one has multiple keypresses on one key for example if I press the I button it also presses the left arrow and vice versa for other arrow keys .)
Others have problems with backspace, del, down arrow and print screen not working.
there are thousands of users reporting the same type of errors.
any Help is highly appreciated, please guide me.
Thanks.
How does it reacts with the internal laptop keyboard flat disconnected and a plugged USB keyboard…
A bios image from a unknow origin is not a path to debug current bios on a system.
The bios system is AMI V and uses ME11, the Universal Bios Backup 2.0 uses Intel fpt tool (yours Intel ME11). but if the bios regions are not accessible in the FD, it cannot generate valid backup files.
EDIT: This is a peculiar issue on 2 motherboards dont you think? Im not pointing any bios issue related…for now.
How about a new keyboard for the laptop… do you think it can fix your issue?
Dont you tell me that you had never heard of common keyboard faults with damaged circuit membrane…
One more thing i wanted to ask is that the laptop have a boot logo on startup and i would love if that can be changed, but i cant make a bios backup so is there a workaroud for this? Some other tool to extract bios backup. Thanks
Thanks for the reply, external keyboard work fine. One thing i realized last night is that i swapped the motherboards of the laptops last night , but theoretically the keyboard issue should also swap? But it remains the same regardless of motherboard. This may indicate that its afterall the keyboards which are faulty?
For a workaround i disabled the arrows keys of one laptop by using keytweak so that it only presses the alphabet keys, and this works. But even after this when i press the arrow key the alphabet keys also get pressed. Kindly share your expert opinion if its a dead end i am following and its the keyboards which are faulty. Usb keyboards work fine, onscreen keyboard work fine(it has a touch screen). Thanks for your time.
Assalam u Alaikum,
The issue with these laptops is not BIOS or software related. It is just a case of shitty electronics. swapping motherboards also won’t help as electronics of the keyboard itself are bad. The only solution is to repair the keyboard which won’t help either bcz the new one will also soon start to mess up. So, the best course of action is Keytweak and if issue is even more complicated, then a physical keyboard is the best-case scenario (putting the laptop in tablet mode and then using the external keyboard as it disables the keyboard on device).
