[Request] CPU microcode for HP Willow2 16540-1 Rev.A

very straight forward question;
is it even possible to update or ‘unlock’ the microcode(s) for this BIOS
and if it is, can someone pls help me?

i believe it is currently locked to ONLY a few supported CPU’s and i would appreciate it very much if it can do any ryzen CPU (with max 65W tdp).
to be more specifically: if someone can make it update to support a Ryzen 3 1300X (is a 65W part) you’d make my day.

An HP system… well sir you can add/remove any mcu but not “Unlock” an mcu.
CPU model support will be according the OEM board design and/or bios/mb locks that prevents it.

Play with it if not your primary system, otherwise i do not encourage you.

it is not my main rig/system. i was wondering if its possible. and you seemingly say, it could be possible.

now the follow up question;
how do i go over this i.e. is there a guide somewhere that i could follow to add mcu (microcode)? and if so, maybe can you (or anyone) link it?

adding zen Summit Ridge mcode (Ryzen 3 1300X)
and zen Raven Ridge mcode (Ryzen 3 2200G)
will test -and update this post in a few days.

-testing 2200G at later date, as i do not have that chip on hand yet.

if above works(1300X/2200G), i try add R5 3600 (Matisse), but i’m very doubtful about Zen+ or even Zen2 for this bios/motherboard combo.

HP bioses are mostly InsydeH20 core design, not too much tools around, HEX edit is always a choice… a small user error…blank screen.
AMD AGESA also a troublemaker in AMD platform mods…
Also usually HP mods require an SPI programmer, like a cheap CH341A device or similar.

Your success rate on this mod is very low…but who knows…
That’s all from me, good luck.
