I have an HP PRO 3500 G2 MT which came with an Intel G2030, I updated its microcode to latest to support i5-3470 which I’m using right now, ME version is latest 8.1, and I managed to get an i5-3570K but when I insert it and start the PC, I get CPU unsupported message then PC shuts off, I found out that i5-3470 and i5-3570K share same microcode, so technically it should work, but maybe HP is blocking it somewhere BIOS level.
So that’s the best I could do, now I’m seeking help from the experts.
HP PRO 3500 G2 MT Motherboard : H-CUPERTINO-H61-uATX: 4.00
BIOS : AMI 80.03
You can find BIOS backup attached HP PRO 3500 G2BACKUP.zip (3.8 MB)
N.B. I do have the CH341A programmer.
Thanks in advance.
The G2 is not really the issue here, Cupertino, Cupertino2, 3 or 4 ? Sry my bad, you said Cupertino.
From HP original bios packages C1 and C2 uses CUP_716.rom, C3 uses CU3_819.rom
Usually printed ID is here:
Hi, the bios-mods thread you linked is about a different model, mine has that G2 in its name which makes all the difference, if I’m missing something please enlighten me.
And thank you for SAFUWIN, this might come in handy.
I knew those… as you said its a payed service so i didnt linked them.
You can try to mod yourself, the issue on this HP motherboards seems to be a TDP lock for K cpus, nothing else, but i only see mods for Cupertino 1/2 (CUP_716.rom), and 3 (CU3_819.rom) bios based.
I couldnt find one based on the CU4_8003.
Most of the mods i found was done by DeathBringer, a user from this forum also, try to ask him.
In this post he quoted:
I patched only two bytes:
0x3B6029: DE → 69
0x3B9025: 76 → EB
Good luck and if possible report here any news onto this Cupertino 4.00 mod.
I did already post there at the same time as this one, and the glorious DeathBringer delivered, this humble HP board can finally run the i5-3570K.
This is the link to my thread over there.
Thank you as well for your time and effort.
