[REQUEST] Creating bios with re-bar for z270x gaming5(reverse engineering from z370 bios)

Hi, Im using qqlt procesor on z270x gaming 5. I wanted to be able turn on re-bar, so i flashed bios from z370x gaming 7. I had No faith it will run, but it turned out it will. So now i could switch on re bar in bios even gpu-z showed its enabled. But in AMD rx470 drivers it coudnt turn on. So i reinstalaed drivers and reboot system, but it was instant blue screen. After that I reinstaled windows. Now I can log into windows but then I will get blue screen. Im pretty sure there is a way to modify z270x bios to be able run re-bar. Maybe someone know how and could help me out, because as far i can flash bios, i dont know how to modify it. Thanks.

Hello @Pawelek1222 ,

Post a picture of your GPU-Z Rebar page, like this

As for the BIOS mod, Try this post

I dont know if I can use this guide, because it is said I need to enable above 4g decoding, wich isnt present in my stock z270 bios.

You don’t link or say which BIOS version. First BIOS release from https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z270X-Gaming-5-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios has above 4GB option for MMIO and even a caveat that it’s automatically enabled if iGPU is set with 2048MB aperture!

I m using f10b bios and no Above 4g decoding in bios. Soo You say wich version should i get?

f10b also has option and as first release needs some other unknown to me configuration set to show it in setup.

Maybe you could test with integrated graphics aperture set to 204MB or perhaps try one of the many ways to set the Setup variable byte offset 0x7AF from 0 to 1 in f10b without BIOS modding. If you later go ahead with rebar dxe BIOS mod you could also look at modifying the Setup but your system is beyond my experience so would need the help of an appropriate expert.
