[Request] Dell Inspiron 5485 2-in-1 Insyde BIOS Unlock for RAM Speed

Just got this laptop, and it has a Ryzen 5 3500U, but RAM is locked in at 2133mhz with zero adjustment. Would like to be able to up it to 2666mhz or 3200mhz. Thanks in advance!

@icase81 - Do you have flash programmer, like CH341A? If not, please see the “annex” section at end of post one of this thread, make a BIOS backup and send to me
[Guide] How to flash a modded AMI UEFI BIOS

What section are you changing memory in, like Advanced >> xxx, or CBS Section >> etc?
Please show me image as well, thanks

I don’t have a ROM flasher, but I’ll certainly buy one. Looks like Amazon says I can have it by tomorrow. As far as where in the BIOS? I assume it would be under Advanced, but there’s really only ‘Maintenance’ and ‘SupportAssist System Resolution’ when it comes to enterable sub-menus. There’s really not a lot of options. Let me do some more digging and I’ll follow up in a little bit. Very much appreciated.

Tried to dump with the annex/flashrom.exe but it fails. Output as follows:

C:\flashrom -p internal:laptop=this_is_not_a_laptop -r BACKUP.ROM >> output.txt
flashrom unknown on FreeDOS 7 (i786)
flashrom is free software, get the source code at

Calibrating delay loop… OK.
Found chipset “AMD FP4/FP5/AM4”.
Enabling flash write… PROBLEMS, continuing anyway

You may be running flashrom on an unknown laptop. We could not
detect this for sure because your vendor has not set up the SMBIOS
tables correctly. Some internal buses have been disabled for
safety reasons. You can enforce using all buses by adding
-p internal:laptop=this_is_not_a_laptop
to the command line, but please read the following warning if you
are not sure.

No EEPROM/flash device found.
Note: flashrom can never write if the flash chip isn’t found automatically.

Also found out something else that Dell is doing, reducing PCIe speeds with GT2 power saving mode instead of GT4 max performance mode without revealing the option in the BIOS for that, either.

hello, i need a bios mod for this same notebook, i need up the tdp to 30, ryzen controller is not stable
