[Request] Dell Precision 7530 or 7730 efivars

see the request in post 4

Not really… but it may work if after setting setup_var_3, doing a dump with Intel FPT tool and writing back, or by SPI programmer maybe… Dell bios plus tpm etc… a bit tricky maybe.

DELLTPM_NPCT750_7.2.2.0_64_v4
There was no Dell documentation for reading about this update?

see Post 4

A Dell Tpm firmwareupdate:

DELLTPM_NPCT750_7.2.2.0_64_v4.exe

changed the bios/EFI settings persistent to dTpm, but the notebook has only a ptt Tpm – now it fails to boot, only with F12 it can boot.

Please: I would need the files or the hexdump of the files, from a working 7530 or 7730.

The 7530 or 7730 should have a Tpm active and better without vPro and only with ptt Tpm (Device is acpi MSFT0101, should be nearly in all 7530/7730).

Under linux you can copy under /sys/firmware/efi/efivars the files:

TPMPERBIOSFLAGS-7d3dceee-cbce-4ea7-8709-6e552f1edbde

10 byte, hexdump

07 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 70 00

(value after the update)

TpmServFlags-7d3dceee-cbce-4ea7-8709-6e552f1edbde

12 byte, hexdump

07 00 00 00 18 DF E8 5B 00 00 00 00

(value after the update)

MeSetupStorage-5432122d-d034-49d2-a6de-65a829eb4c74

16 byte, hexdump

07 00 00 00 00 01 01 00 00 00 00 01 01 00 00 01

(value after the update)

These files are writable under linux, if these settings fix the problem, it could help also with other notebooks, trashed after such an “update”, that shows a Tpm that is not there and then destroys the whole notebook, without checking the hardware sufficiently.

Or perhaps you know the working values from a similar Dell with Me 12, without vPro and ptt enabled? From a 8th or 9th Gen Dell Business Notebook, Latitude and Xps/5530 were also trashed by such “updates”.

You have files here and here

EDIT: Why not… to extract VARS…

these files are not relevant for my request

The hexdump values of the files writen persistent in the Nvram are needed - the dumped bios values (converted in the txt format or not) have other values, 10th Gen (7550/7750) is not comparable. Maybe also a bios fulldump contains this - then I know no tool to extract from there.

found a Me Cleaned Full Bios 32 Mb for 7530 there - how can I read the efivars for the Nvram files with this?

Defaults maybe… kind the same discussed here
