XM25QH128CH10 and XM25RH64CH10
I tried to dump the rom using CH341a, but after whole reading prosess has done, weirdly, notebook did not boot anymore. I also tried same thing at bios-rocked C30-K series.
there are some dumped files but not reliable.
Incorrect use of an IC programmer, no assurance of correct circuit voltages and/or target IC, psw ON/stand by etc…
voltage…
I think ch341a works properly with no-assignment at 3.3v according to https://www.xmcwh.com/en/site/product_con/202 page.
I am biginner of flashing rom, so I also tried to read rom data from 25RH64C wich doubtly not a bios chip.
There are several dumps in your zip- file with dumps of 4 chips with mixed descriptions. Of 3 chips there seems to be at least 2 dumps with 100% identical content according to different filenames. i764-1st dosn’t have a second dump.
So these dumps might be valid dumps if they’re not just renamed / copied files.
The 64 MBit and the 128 MBit files build together the firmware, if you append the 128 MBit image at the end of the 64 MBit file you get an Intel firmware image:
You may have knocked off some smaller SMD parts when working with the soic clamp, you might have bricked some parts by not disconnecting the batteries, you might have made a short when working with the clamp… Reading normally wont change the chips content.
XM25RH64CH10 has replay protection monotonic counter(rpmc). Is that mean some protection to prevent the reading/copying this chip?
actually, i7 one has no bios password protection, so i wanted to rewrite it to i5 chip. what
kind of adoption/edit I need to do to bios data?
and if i write this bios to another chip, do i need to access both 128bit and 64 bit chip? bit not sure for now about dual bios and security on newer laptop. thank you.
