Request for modding Asus P8H61-I/RM/SI Bios to support for Ivi Bridge

Hello there,

I was searching for a modded bios for Asus P8H61-I/RM/SI motherboard that supports 3rd Gen Ivy bridge processors but most of the modded bios are removed from everywhere or my search is not so deep.

Since this an RM motherboard (Asus OEM motherboard) there is no support considerable to update the bios to support 3rd gen processors.

If someone has a modded bios or can inject the microcodes for me to boot up the motherboard with 3rd gen that would be really kind.

The revision 2.0 of this motherboard has official support by asus though its bios is not compatible with RM motherboard. Yes thats true.

edit: I have uploaded the bios file by extracting it from AFUwind utility. Please see attachment in zip file.
P8H61-I RM SI.zip (1.9 MB)

At least provide a valid link or share the file itself of the bios file or preferably an FPT dump of the current system bios.
What mcodes does the bios have? What ME FW version does the bios have?

EDIT: The backup file doesnt have ME FW region. The bios only contains 2nd GEN mcodes and only SandyBridge vBIOS.
You need mcodes, IvyBridge vBios/GOP and ME8, on this bios…if possible.
Another option is cross flashing with Asus file on a blank programmed new SPI bios IC.
Check with HWInfo the ME section report.

Last note… bios mods like this can led to a bricked bios/system, do you a CH341A or other model for bios recovery…

If not then i do not recommend further actions… the ME region (should be ME7) needs to be re-flashed or programmed with ME8, besides the re-flash of the bios mod region with additional mcodes/vbios and GOP driver.

yes i have uploaded it now by using AFUwin. Please see attached zip file.

Oh im sorry I have nothing on hand just the motherboard and sandy bridge and ivy bridge processors.

Sir I have seen people do it on overclockers. Co. Uk of the same motherboard and injecting the microcode to the same motherboard and with success booting. The modified file was installed using programmer and modded aufdos utility. I come here in hope do make a way out.
Like I said the modded bios file cannot be found as its too old and where ever i looked it was expired.

AFUDOS utility is not a tool for mod, its an AMI utility flasher.

“injecting the microcode to the same motherboard and with success booting…”
You sure it was just the mcode? If so use AMI MMtool (or HxD Editor for manual hex) for adding the mcodes and UBU can update also the old ones.

“The modified file was installed using programmer…”
Then you confirm my statement.

What else can i help you on this matter?

Please check

Damm sir… didnt i told before that a possibility is cross flashing an ASUS stock file… thats what the user “PeteBest” did and worked. He used the P8H61-I biso v909

A CH341 Programmer IS NEEDED.

On OC forum, the initial attempts on modding the bios just adding cpu mcode didnt work, without a GOP driver or they even mentioned ME FW versiosn, so what part of the threads on OC or what i posted before you dont understand?

This is the ME FW and vBIOS on the Asus P8H61-I bios version 909

It contains also IvyBridge supprot

Actually i am not familiar with these things. Thats why a request was upraised for fellows like you to guide me to do so or to simply modify.

Edit: I will do some more research on it and look for a programmer to begin with…

Seems the solution is described properly in the linked thread? Asus bios 909 seems to support Ivy Bridge.

Check the chip type of the bios chip on your board, compare to Asus bios 909 chip size

Buy a SPI chip of same size / type and a CH341 programmer

Program Asus bios 909 into the new chip

Exchange the old SPI firmware chip against the freshly and properly programmed new chip and try if it works.

Yes buddy. Im on that forum now and reading the posts. The same file 0909 can also be flashed using aufdos and afuwin. Let me try those otherwise I will just use the programmer instead
