[Request] FW-Update for WD SATA HDD 1002FBYS-02A6B0

I want to have the latest firmware of my Western Digital RE3 drive. The model is WD1002FBYS-02A6B0. This is a serial ATA internal drive of the Enterprise series of Western Digital. I have firmware version 03.00C06 but the latest one is version 03.00C09. Western digital does not want to give this firmware. Anybody knows where to download the latest firmware (please not Western digital because I asked them 2 times) ?

  1. Any evidence that the latest fw for 02A6B0 is 03.00C09? 3 minutes left and I still don’t find those numbers together…

  2. WD1002FBYS-02A6B0… says nothing. There is usually lots of subversions (headers, year). Show the whole sticker.
    Probably S/N should be enough (WMATV…).

  3. Seems that for 03.00C06 the latest firmware is 0005009U.

the S/N is WD-WMATV4981306. First we need to understand what the 4 numbers mean after “WD1002FBYS” .What means “02A6B0” : a submodel ? Other platters ? . Then we know which version to use version 03.00C06 or 03.00C09. I did not find my answer on the website of western digital.

Why did you post your request into “BIOS Modules” Forum section?
I seriously doubt, that the Firmware for your SATA disk drive is within your mainboard BIOS or can be updated by a BIOS modification.
