(Request) GA-H61M-S2PV REV 2.1 Modding to Allow My RX 560 to work

hello. so i havent slept for 2 days straight to get my Asus ROG STRIX RX 560 OC V2 to work with my motherboard. I visited forums, i went to a computer service but i found nothing. But when i looked a little bit deep i found out that my RX 560 wants a full UEFI + GOP. I tried modding my BIOS but i couldnt do it so i came here to ask for help. Im using the FId version of the BIOS which you can find from here:(https://www.gigabyte.com/tr/Motherboard/GA-H61M-S2PV-rev-21/support#dl) and believe me or not i tried every single combination like opening CSM changing the PEGx To Gen1,Gen2,Gen2 etc. so can anyone help me about this i will eb very happy.

The bios of your mb is UEFI… what options she has in Boot settings of the bios i dont know, dont care and dont care either if this was a mining GPU card… and had or has a modified vbios/GOP disable.

UEFI boot environment and the use of a discrete GPU GOP driver initialization, requires CSM to be disable on motherboard bios settings or AUTO if the initial OS Install was set to UEFI.

Some RX cards have issues on some motherboards using UEFI boot, some users have successful fix it, by updating vbios/gop of the GPU card, NOT the mb mods/internal iGPU GOP.

That’s all, proceed at your own choice and risk.

ok so 1 more question i have my windows installed as old version (i guess mbr) does that have any effect on my problem?

A “pure” UEFI system environmentt uses GPT/Secure Boot and EFI DXE driver initialization, contrary to a Legacy environment that will use GPU vBios initialization instead of GOP DXE driver, so i do not recommend for using latest Windows OS 10/11 and latest GPU drivers.

okay thanks and i have 2 more questions:
1.I dont even get signal to go into BIOS so i need another computer to do vBios update. Can i do it from another computer?
2. If i update my windows to GPT, will it be better or worse because my system is OLD, like really old: i7 2600 DDR3 1333MHz 4+4 Ram 1TB HDD. so do you think if i update, it will be better for me?

That’s 3 now…

  • Yes…
  • and will not be worse IF you do a new clean OS installation and the culprit here is the HDD…get a cheap 2,5" SDD at least…
