[Request] GA970A-UD3P Bios mod to support RAM

Hi guys, I’d like to know if it is possible to modify the bios to make the motherboard support a 4x4GB RAM configuration. I have already installed 4x4GB of ram but they work at 1333MHz instead of 1866Mhz, and there is no way to increase the frequency in any way, not even by raising the voltage. What can I do?

What processor do you have? K10 or Bulldozer?
I had the same board with a FX-4300 Bulldozer (well, Vishera) and no problems with running 16 GB at 1600. Memory was 2x4 GB of Corsair Vengeance 1600 and 2x4 of early Corsair XMS3.
Only "trick" I noticed that you should set timings manually and ignore the XMP toggle. Otherwise, with XMP enabled, all the memory was detected but only half was usable.

If you are running a K10 cpu then 1333 is the max it will do with all the slots populated, 1600 is generally stable/achievable only on C3 step processors and 2 modules max.

I have an FX8320. Even if I raise the frequency manually (without using XMP) the PC does not start but brings me back to the bios with a boot faliure. I haven’t tried to change the timings yet.

Try relaxing the timings or raising CPU-NB voltage. Other than that I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful.
Also aside from memory issues to me that board always seemed quirky/annoying to work with.

Thank you so much. I solved it by setting the timings manually and deactivating the XMP profile. Thanks a lot again
