[REQUEST] Help modding or if someone can mod bios so HPET is changable option ASUS PRIME Z370-P

I need help modding or if someone can mod so that I can change HPET option in ASUS PRIME Z370-P BIOS version 3401, AMICBP just says “saving defaults to NVRAM area failed” when i try to save the bios file.
I’ve once modded a bios for z68 asrock extreme 3 gen3 years, so not too experienced.

Thanks in advance.

@Waaza - Please link me to the BIOS you want used, I do not see 3401 on Prime Z370-P BIOS download page, even after clicking to show all
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRI…/HelpDesk_BIOS/

Probably you need to use newer AMIBCP version (like 5.02.0031), if that fails it can be done manually (I’ll do for you)

Apparently it was version 2401, typoed it.

And thanks for help, I’ll try to find newer version of AMICBP.

Edit: Found it, and it worked. Thanks for help man! Much appriciated.

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure, in case maybe you had wrong model mentioned or something
That version is here, if it also fails for you let me know and I can do the mod manually for you
https://www.mediafire.com/file/ckao23pe5…2.0031.rar/file

* Edit - we posted at same time. Good you found and it works! Now, if BIOS mod still isn’t correct after you flash in, let me know and I can do manually for you

I’d rather have you mod it for me than myself, if you could =) Seen many posts where you’ve done nice job and actually used your modded bios for my Asus z170 PRO GAMING it worked like a charm

And yeah, it’s always nice to be sure when dealing with something like this

OK, I will do for you tonight if you can wait sorry, heading out in a few minutes so I can’t do it now.
And thank you for the nice comments, I appreciate it

Thanks man, yes I can wait so I don’t brick my motherboard

@Waaza - flash via USB Flashback only (this is modified stock BIOS, don’t FPT) - Asus PRIME-Z370-P-2401-HPET-TCO-SPD-Mod

Thank you very much, your doing really good job

Hmm anyway to do with without flashback since apparently the board doesnt support it? @Lost_N_BIOS

Edit: Hmm I think i got it, sry for bothering you again

@Waaza - You’re welcome! Sorry, I didn’t check if this model had flashback. Does this board supports USB Flashback or not? If not, stop, don’t use AFU or FPT, you’ll need to make a FPT BIOS region dump and let me edit that and send back to you.

No problem, I used this method and it worked https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.ph…l-AMD-roll-back

I have it flashed now, and everything is fine thank you very much man

Not good! What commands did you use, what flags (/P /B etc)? Since you already did, best you do again and use /P /B /N at least

I have no idea if i used any flags, just copied what was in that video. But it seems to be working right now? Is there something that is wrong with my system even though I can perceive it?

Edit: Apparently there was /GAN tag in the .bat file which in the .rar that was linked to that video

I didn’t want video, flags are command arguments, like this >> AFUDOS.exe /P /B /N << Those with / and letter after, are flags, that tell what regions to flash.

Yes, I assumed /GAN which is also a flag, and this one or AFU in general is why I said not good That AFUDOS and use of /GAN is for VERY old BIOS (10+ years old)
Nothing you can do now except hope all remains OK and you don’t run into issues caused by this in the future (too random for me to remember or hunt down, much more problematic on laptops)

Ok, I’ll gladly do it the right way if you are willing to guide me how to do it

But I gotta go to bed now

It’s too late now, once you do that you can’t fix this
