I have an HP Probook 445 G9 with a forgotten BIOS password. I have a CH341A, connected the ribbon to the BIOS chip but it won’t read. I checked the model number of the CHIP and it doesn’t exist in any of the software (CH341A Programmer, AsProgrammer).
I have a notebook with a BIOS chip that shows one set of markings on the surface, but the actual chip model corresponds to a slightly different identifier. What version of AsProgrammer are you using?
But theoretically , if you boot from a Linux live USB and remove all disks, the BIOS should boot from the USB. Once inside Linux, you can use the sudo flashrom -p internal command to try identifying the chip model.
But if it doesn’t work, I think the only way will be to identify via Ch431a.
That’s what I think will work.
It’s present on the latest versions of ASProgrammer and NeoProgrammer.
The MX25L25673G uses 1.8v voltage range.
Thanks, found it!
