[Request] Intel® Workstation Board W2600CR BIOS Dump

did someone have a BIOS dump from SPI Programmer as a .bin or .rom file to share with me.
I just try to using orginal intel tool to deploy nvme support.

you can put the file in to any online public storage for me to download

EDIT by Fernando: Thread title shortened

You wont be able to use Intel tools to deploy a modified Intel BIOS. You can only flash modified Intel BIOS in person, with programmer on each board. I tried to find dump for you, but couldn’t sorry.

If you have programmer now, you can make your own dump, then modify, then program back to board. If you do not have programmer yet, then no need for a dump, you cannot use it until you have programmer anyway.

I found a way to possible to do maybe, but i need the dump file from the other broad to verify . but i am not sure .

Yes, NVME can probably be added easily, even to the stock BIOS from Intel but you can’t flash or program that. You need a dump to start with, modify that using UEFITool, then program back with programmer.
Or you mean you found a way to flash modified dump, without having a programmer? If yes, I doubt it would work, or we would already know of this method and it would be commonly used.
Only method known for Intel BIOS is dump entire BIOS with FPT if FD is unlocked, or dump with programmer, then edit, then reprogram

* Edit - If you can pinmod the board, unlock the FD and then dump entire BIOS with FPT, then maybe it’s possible to then flash back with FPT too.
But, I bet pinmod method is blocked, or this would be the commonly used method for Intel BIOS mods and it’s not, so I’m betting this is blocked by Intel as well via missing or added resistor to the audio chip.

Thank for replay, may be restart in feature , Once i have a simple dump.

You’re welcome! Order CH341A flash programmer and SOIC8 (Or other if not SOIC8 BIOS type) test clip cable if BIOS is soldered onto board, both are very cheap $2.50 + $3.50 on ebay - $7.00-8.00 for the SOIC16 test clip cable
If you are not sure about BIOS type for the cable show me some images of your motherboard or the BIOS up close if you already know which chip is the BIOS.
I found one OK image to guess by, looks like SOIC16 if that is the BIOS shown circled below

BIOS-SOIC16.jpg

I just for software dev only, i am not actual need to program

? If you want to do this, that is the only way

Good, I found the other way to doing a same thing.

@gregwong646 - So, what is method, please and thanks!

Once I got the dump , maybe share is possible and confirm

@gregwong646 - OK, thanks, I would appreciate it! And in the meantime, I will keep my eye out for a dump for you!
