[Request] Intel Wi-Fi 6 (AX200) driver for Win7

Hi,

Any modder/coder/programmer is available to modify or "add" support of this Wi-fi card for Windows 7?
I can donate one wifi card (with PCI-E adapter) to anyone known in the community who has already made/modified a driver for the community. PM me please.

Thanks!

Hardware ID: (from a friend as i did not bough mobo with intel ax200 yet)
VEN_8086&DEV_2723&SUBSYS_00848086&REV_1A

VEN_8086&DEV_2723&CC_028000
VEN_8086&DEV_2723&CC_0280

This website contains more hardware ID for the same card apparently: https://rocketdrivers.com/manufacturers/…-6-ax200-160mhz

Edit by Fernando: Thread title shortened (a donation promise is neither essential for the topic nor welcome within the thread title)

@Danesh_italiano :
It may be a good idea to add the HardwareIDs of the WiFi Controller.

added hardware IDs to the first post.
Thanks!

@Danesh_italiano :
Try the drivers from >this< site.

@Fernando :
I have downloaded the driver and checking the .INF files for windows 7 (NTamd64.6.1), and none of them have any hardware ID of AX200 on it.
My friend that gave me the hardware IDs is using windows 10 and i will only buy motherboard with wi-fi 6 if someone can make it to work with windows 7. This is why i am donating the card to someone.

Thanks!

I too am looking for a wondows 7 driver for the on board;

I have tried everything, nothing works for windows 7

Sorry Even Chinese guys said no - http://www.smxdiy.com/thread-2735-1-1.html
Maybe you will get lucky and Fernando can help.

how do you know they “say no”? can’t read Chinese, can you?

@Pir8pete - No, I can’t read Chinese, I used google translate - https://translate.google.com/translate?h…=search&pto=aue

Yeah guess it’s just a “nest of snakes and mice” and then he went tossing! ;p

BAHAHA crazy Chinese talk

Haha, yes, it’s always funny to read translated Chinese, sometimes I wonder what they actually say too since I know the translation is often incorrect
BIOS flash/Program usually is translated to >> Brush
Something they say often in BIOS work threads too, not sure what actually they are saying, but it’s very funny and translated always to >> Landlord

@Danesh_italiano : @Pir8pete :
Have you ever tried to get one of the latest Intel WiFi drivers working while running Win7 x64 by forcing the installation via “Have Disk” button and chosing the file named Netwtw08.INF?
If this shouldn’t work, not even a modification of the INF file will solve your problem.

@Fernando :
I’ll give this a try, odd that it’s giving this much trouble as Intel does list the win7 drivers and support. Spent hrs now trying to figure this out ;p

for the win7 package there is no "Netwtw08.INF"

Here’s the win10 package

EDIT by Fernando: To save space I have replaced the fully quoted post by directly addressing to the author and resized the inserted pictures (can be enlarged by clicking onto them)

@Fernando :

The only pack that “lists” the Intel ax200 WiFi driver is in Netwtw08.INF for windows 10 as you mentioned.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloa…s?product=59485

WiFi_21.110.1_Driver64_Win10

and when trying to force the driver from the win10 pack on win7 here’s the error;

win10 driver pack.jpg

So the issue is in the win7 pack, it doesn’t list the ax200 WiFi device, only the following WiFi devices.
-NIC_8265
-NIC_8275
-NIC_1435
-NIC_3168
-NIC_4165
-NIC_8260
-NIC_7265
-NIC_3165

WiFi_21.40.5_Driver64_Win7

win7 driver pack.jpg

Whats odd is why? is there no ax200 WiFi device support in 21.40.5 and lower then.
*Important Notice: Starting with Software Release 21.50.1, there will be no new driver versions for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 Operating Systems
https://downloadmirror.intel.com/29787/e…21.110.1_IT.pdf

New Setup Information File (INF) support for Intel® Wireless Drivers (Driver Package Version 21.90.X or Newer)

Supported Windows Operating Systems for Intel® Wireless Products

Would there be any way to “modify/add” the ax200 support in the win7 pack or mod the win10 pack to work on win7? must be away! I know people have made there own for Linux support.

or maybe one of the other models listed in the win7 pack might half work, like missing BT or something but the WiFi would work?

@Pir8pete :
A modification of the file named Netwsw04.INF to make it natively work with your on-board Intel NIC_200 WiFi Adapter would be very time consuming. Furthermore it is very unlikely, that it would work.
Did you already try to force the installation of the Win10 driver? If yes, but with no success, what about trying to force the installation of the Win7 driver? It may work although the DeviceID is not listed within the INF file.

yes I tried both, didnt work, win7 pack says error can not start IO device, win10 package says can’t be forced; OS not supported.

Good topic, i am also looking for driver for Intel® I225-V lan and for AX200 wlan. Unfortunately my new asus B550 equipped with these new shits.

Do you already have a driver for Intel i225-V on Windows 7?

If not:
You can download the complete driver pack version 25.2 from intel website
Extract and go to folder PRO2500\Winx64\NDIS68
Edit file e2f68.inf
Delete the first two occurrences of string ".10.0.1…17763" (without double quotes). This tells windows the driver is compatible
Now you can install that driver.

We need a mod for the Intel AX200 drivers not the i225-V

What about this one, from intel’s official site?

downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30056/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-IT-Admins
The following products are supported with this software and driver package:

There is mentioned Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200

"Some products support only 64-bit version of Windows*"

Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software (includes drivers): windows 7 version is also there.
