[Request] Mod Asrock H110M-HDV BIOS with Resiz.Bar/4G Decoding

Hello everybody! Im requesting to any good heart a bios modded with enabled Reisable Bar And 4G decod for my motherboard Asrock H110M HDV (no Rev version) Latest Version bios V7.60. I’m afraid of breaking my motherboard by updating with a corrupted BIOS in the process. I have i7 6700, amd rx 5700 xt bought from my friend. (Everything works flawless, but my video card dosent have the maximum performance due to lack of 4g Decod and Resizable Bar). Many thanks in advance to any kind soul.

Edit by Fernando: Thread title shortened

Very “emotive” and “polite” request… but this wont get you a full-proof one time mod/flash as no one can assure you of a 100% bios mod that will be correct and having no issues after/during flash at first run… so the chances/risks are still the same on your side, you do know how to recover a failed flash/mod or you dont flash it at all.
Of course you can have lucky enough and there’s already a user with such mb model and same mod, that can share it with you…an H110, i doubt it.

I’ll give you and advice, start getting your hands “dirty” or it may take some time to get such mod…plenty of guides/similar cases in the forum to follow…or stay put with a working system, if this is the only one to serve you.
Good luck.

[Release] Resizable BAR BIOS EFI Module - BIOS/UEFI Modding / BIOS modules (PCI ROM, EFI and others) - Win-Raid Forum

EDIT:

Sorry dont want to sound so “Negative” but you surelly dont know what your talking about… there’s no “percentage” in this… it works after flashed and the system could boot or you get a black screen… the guides/user reports are based on the same principle… but each mb model/bios version differs on to many variables.

Yes Im sure theare is no warranty if somebody do this for me, but some one who got more experience with this is more reliable. Anyway, if somebody got this bios already modded and working, at last 80% of security it will work. greetings!

The variables following the guide is in my case:
My mobo is asrock h110m hdv bios v7.60 (uefi patch and patch dsdt needed) and skylake processor (accordig to the guide need own step). Many who do this, share their own bios modded. I understand your position obviously; but if somebody did it this with this specs i dont see why cant work. If dont work I just only have myself to curse. If nobody got this bios modded well bad luck.
Enablig the 4g decode is for alll who dont have it the feauture in the bios. And i did it recently following the guide. But im stuck in the dsdt patch, when i try to patch the bios rom. Well thanks anyway to prevent me hehe.

Got it! Thanks man! Really this is like take a porshe and dont do the best speed, and with this change everithing for sure. Many thanks.I’ll tell you later how it went. Sorry for my english is not my language.

@karfel a dumb question, will 4G Decod appear in the mod bios to activate it? because today I noticed that it does not appear in my stock bios even though I activated it with the modGRUBShell tool. what I did was deactivate it with the command setup_var 0x03 (varoffset for 4G Decode) to 0x00 reboot, setup_var 0x03 0x01 reboot (this is because it already appeared activated in the tool). I also did the same thing but with the setup_var_3 command but nothing happens. it appears activated state in the tool, but when I enter the uefi, the feature does not appear. Also CSM was disabbled before. Can you check it out?

here by default above 4g enabled, just do reset cmos after flash.

Well bad luck this time haha, no display, no POST. No beeps.

welp i didn’t expect that will happen (• ▽ •;).

CH341, NeoProgrammer.

unplug power source and cmos
Determine first your IC bios 3.3v/1.8v (it could be Windbond, Gigadevice, Macronix, etc.) via Detect IC, Read the IC twice to make sure the CRC32 is still not changing then save the file, after that click delete then click Blank Check, open the file stock bios from official web (Instant Flash option) then click Write.

Hi Karfel, no problem. There was a chance it could happen. I don’t have the programmer, and even if I did, I wouldn’t know how to desolder. So I’ll send the CPU to a computer lab that repairs motherboards. The repair isn’t that expensive, and they’ll be up to date. I was reading Github for common issues, and these motherboards either have problems with the SATA controller (h110m hdv R.30), or my LGA 1151 processor might not post.
Another thing is that I always update the ME firmware to the latest version and the microcode, patching the bios reading a forum in this place long time ago. Maybe it was that. Who knows, haha.

I leave it here for further testing.

Hi @karfel again haha, I saw that in your new version you’ve added some actualized things like GOP, VBT, VBIOS, and other things. I haven’t reprogrammed the BIOS chip yet due to work issues. One question: Is it advisable to reprogram it directly with the modified BIOS, or should I reprogram the chip with the original BIOS and then try programming it with this modified BIOS? I could ask the technician to try it since he has the reprogrammer. What do you think? Or should I stay still? haha. Greetings.

in my opinion, better reprogram first with modded one, so you don’t have to come back twice to repair shop lol.

the thing that i’ve added in there is related to coffelake (~‾▿‾)~.
