[Request] Mod JGINYUE X99I-SERVER with ReBar/4G Decoding

Hello everybody!

I’m looking for some advice on enabling Resizable BAR on a JGINYUE X99I-SERVER motherboard (BIOS X990A008, latest).

I’m not interested in overclocking, just trying to get ReBAR working properly for an Intel Arc GPU (Arc Pro B50).

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Above 4G Decoding is enabled, CSM disabled.

  • I manually added the ReBarUEFI DXE module to the BIOS using UEFITool.

  • I tried applying common UEFIPatch ReBAR patches, but no patches match this BIOS (“No patches can be applied”).

  • System boots fine after adding the module.

However, ReBAR still doesn’t work:

  • On Linux, lspci shows Physical Resizable BAR capability, but
current BAR size stays at 256MB, even though the GPU supports up to 16GB.

  • So it looks like BAR size is still being clamped somewhere in the BIOS (PciBus / Host Bridge).

I’m attaching (or can upload) my current BIOS dump if someone is willing to take a look.

Has anyone here worked with JGINYUE X99I-SERVER or similar Chinese X99 boards and managed to remove the BAR size limit?
Any hints on which DXE module or code path usually enforces the 256MB limit on these boards would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance!

You should use the executable to properly set the bar size, but idk if this exe in the repo could run on linux.

Hello and welcome!

For this situation, I recommend that you first get an external programmer like CH341A. Then you follow Example 4 from this post, and insert the ME region from your stock BIOS (version 9.1.40).

ReBAR is enabled by default and works perfectly fine with this modified Huananzhi BD4 based BIOS. I have personally tried it with one Nvidia GPU (3070) and two AMD GPUs (5700XT, 6600XT).
