Hi Fernando…!!
My system is HP Compaq 8300 Elite SFF, Intel Core i5-3470 3.20GHz, 16 GB RAM, no Graphics card, BIOS v3.08, Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit).
PC: HP Elite 8300 SFF
System BIOS: K01 v3.08
BIOS: SP95971
Extension: K01_0308.BIN
Chipset: Q77
CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 3.20GHz
M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD Adapter + Samsung SSD 980 PRO NVMe M.2 250GB (MZ-V8P250) PCIe4.0
Memory: 16GB
OS: win10 PRO 64
Can you tell me how the Elite 8300 can supports NVMe boot via the PCie slot? Thank you very much in advance…!!

@Marco_Drummer :
Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
What you will need is the "pure" extracted BIOS file (not an *.exe one). The Guide how to modify it is within the start post of this thread. Another problem will be to get the modded BIOS properly flashed into the HP device.
Regards
Dieter (alias Fernando)
Thank you @Fernando…!!
1) Where can I find "pure" extracted BIOS file?
2) Is this the Guide how to modify it is within the start post of this thread? [Guide] How to get full NVMe support for all Systems with an AMI UEFI BIOS…??
3) What is the problem that will be to get the modded BIOS properly flashed into the HP device?
I would be really grateful if you could help me. Thank you very very much…!!
@Marco_Drummer :
Here are my answers:
- Go to the HP Support page for your system, download the latest BIOS and - if it is only offered as Installer (*.exe file), try to extract the “pure” BIOS file.
- Yes, the guide about how to modify the BIOS and about how to get Win10 installed onte an NVMe SSD, is within the start post of this thread.
- If HP should just offer a BIOS Installer, but no “pure” BIOS file, you should ask someone else for help regarding the problem to get the modded BIOS properly flashed. Our team member Lost_N_BIOS knows more than me about how to solve such problem.
Thank you very much @Fernando . I’ll follow your guide and I’m waiting for a reply from @Lost_N_BIOS about help me about regarding the problem to get the modded BIOS properly flashed.
Thanks…!!
Hi @Lost_N_BIOS ,
I’m writing to you because I have a issue with my HP 8300 SFF.

The problem is to get the modded BIOS properly flashed into the HP device. Fernando tells me that you knows more about how to solve this problem. I wish I could boot my HP 8300 from my Samsung SSD 980 PRO NVMe via PCIe…!!
I would be really grateful if you could help me. Thank you very very much…!!
@Lost_N_BIOS reply:
I avoid HP like the plague when it comes to BIOS modding. Do you have flash programmer?
I can give you guys BIOS from the exe, but that’s pointless if you do not have flash programmer, there is usually no way to flash mod BIOS unless we can get FPT to work and or you have flash programmer like CH341A.
Some HP have SureStart too, which auto-recovers stock BIOS from hidden chip on the board, right after you flash OR Program in mod BIOS, so it’s a major pain and impossible to do anything on models that have this.
Please make a thread, or quote this PM in whole when you reply back. Link me to the stock BIOS download page, and tell me what version you are using now, and I will look at the BIOS.
Hi @Lost_N_BIOS ,
thank you for you reply. I am currently using BIOS version 3.08 that I downloaded at:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp95501-96000/sp95971.exe
I haven’t CH341A or FPT but if you tell me what I must to do, I do it. I’m waiting your news.
Thank you very much…!!

Since Marco Drummer is not able to modify the mainboard BIOS himself and to get the modded BIOS properly flashed, I have moved his request into a separate thread of the Sub-Forum "BIOS Modding Requests".
Hello,
looking forward for this MOD as I have same configuration, I also have the CH341A and willing to try, just lacking the experience in modifying the Bios file as it is risky, I tried to follow the guides but but not so sure
Hello, can you please tell me if there is a modified BIOS file on the HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF (H4U94ES) to work and boot a Windows 10 system with an NVMe SSD via a PCI-E adapter.
Now the native BIOS is installed: K01 v03.08
PC Serial Number: RUA24201FG
