Dear Folks,
I have got a question regarding boot-goard protection on Intel CPU’s. My Dell xps9369 got a broken CPU and I am thinking about hotswapping it by another CPU. I got access to an broken xps9370 board containing the same CPU (i7-8550U). However, I was wondering if there will be a mismatch between the PHY hash’s. I checked the Bios and ACN has of course the sam hash/public keys. Am I right, that the burned /fused hash will cause the CPU to not start?
I do not want to start a general discussion about whether it was possible to do the soldering etc. See my question more as some kind of theoretical quistion.
Thank you very much in advance!
