You bet. Let me upload my fully unlocked bios mod for this. One minute.
…
I must warn you, there is a sh*t load of settings visible. Reset bios you currenly have to optimized defaults. USE BUILT IN FLASH feature on the back of the board!
If it bricks… well it wont because flashback lets you flash the unmodified bios from ASUS back still. But still… be warned I guess? Anyways. It’s:
BIOS BUILD 0904 FROM ASUS ROG WEBSITE, ONLY MOD WAS THE SETUP TO ALLOW ACCESS TO ALL SETTINGS.
copy this file AS IS to a usb flash drive that is MBR partitioned with a single FAT32 partition.
(Plug your USB drive into the port on the rear that says “BIOS FLASHBACK” (its made obivous, next to the button itself)
power off, make sure power is plugged in but the PC is powered off. Press and HOLD the back of the motherboard’s “flashback” button (until you see a little green light start flashing.
Leave it for 10 minutes. It will seem like nothing is happpening. After 10, boot up. If you get the fans going and it keep bootlooping… press the little button above the flashback, its harder to push (embedded) and resets the CMOS (same as battery pull). Tested myself fully and works great.
VIRUSTOTAL SCAN for your safety.
@Mkgen
If you want to offer a self-modded BIOS for the public, please start a new thread within the Category “BIOS/UEFI Modding Offers”.
This way it will be much easier for users with the same mainboard model to find your specificly modded BIOS.
@Mkgen Hello again
Thank you for the help
Do you have the latest ROG STRIX Z790-A GAMING WIFI D4 bios unlocked?
I can make it. Sorry for the delay, there was barely any interest in this on here, so I only made personal copies. I’ll get started. Check back in a few hours!
Done! Same process, recommend flashing with the Flashback feature. First, clear CMOS or reset bios to default on existing. No settings were tweaked on my mod version. Simply enabled hidden menus. BIOS lock is on, CFG Lock is on, etc. Feel free to disable the UEFI firmware (bios) setup.
Much appreciated, friend! My sincerest thanks
did it work for you? Did it have all of the features/settings that you hoped for? Would appreciate any feedback! Also, if you’re interested, there’s an even easier – less intrusive way of editing the bios UEFI variables (settings in setup) straight from the comfort of Windows, which has even more settings open… though it requires manually editing a loooong text file. (AMISCE) which you can just search for key words (bios lock, CFG lock, Overclocking lock, etc.,) and move the * astrix to the correct line
*(0 - unlock)
(1 - lock)
and then executing one line in powershell and reboot. You wont see them changed in stock bios, but it will change them on any stock asus AMI bios (seeing the setup is cool, but having to mod or update for every revision isn’t always; though I do not mind doing so.)
Let me know, I’ll share that method in a new thread if I get any requests for it.
It’s pretty straight forward. I’ll even share my screen and guide you if needed or wanted)
