@shenol - Thanks for attaching dump, can you please link to Sony site for exe download so I have the correct link, I like to keep actual stock BIOS in storage and have limited bandwidth so I wont download your "From Sony.rar"
Thanks! Is that latest BIOS for your board that you made dump from? If yes, you should be able to install Win10, but you wont be able to use Secure Boot Mode (use MBR partition) I will try to enable chipset and second Advanced page for you. Please screenshot your BIOS via F12 if you can, if not use camera, and show images of all the main root pages (no need to go into submenus). Zip those up and attach or upload to file host.
This is Intel CPU System? If yes, do you have ME drivers installed? If not, check download page and see if you can find them to install. If not, check this anyway, download HWInfo64, and in large window, left side motherboard section, expand and see if you see ME section, if yes check there for ME Firmware version and let me know. It may also show on main page of BIOS, so check there too https://www.hwinfo.com/download/
Yes it is the latest bios that I dumped. So I cant use UEFI? It is the intel system but I dont know anything about ME drivers attached the HWinfo screenshots.
Thanks all around, hopefully I can figure things out for the both of you. What does “UEFI” mean to you when you ask it like that @shenol ? If you mean like I mentioned, Secure Boot mode then no, your BIOS does not contain such settings even hidden, it’s made before UEFI BIOS went mainstream. Your ME version is shown in BIOS Main page, so we can use same FPT version to flash BIOS later as @nonid is using, once we make some progress. Still figuring this one out, I haven’t enabled things on Sony much, so trial and error until we figure it out on nonid’s system since he has programmer and can easily recover from any bad flashes.
@shenol I had unlocked some options in menus and updated the microcodes in the BIOS(http://www.mediafire.com/file/3k5vld9vwb…l-BIOS.zip/file). Just extract the zip file and click on Flash.bat and then do not touch the laptop until the process is completed.
After two years I wonder if you could help me. I have tried unlocking vaio bios vpcf11c5e with no results Is this BIOS compatible with my model? Could you help me unlock the original?
