Hi
I have a couple of unknown brand NVMe to PCI Express adapters for single NVMe drive. I have tried setting the PCI slots to EFI mode in the bios to see if the NVMe drive is seen by the Windows 10 installer, but I’ve had no success. The disk is not detected. Tried with both adapters.
The NVMe I am using is a Samsung 970 EVo 256 Drive.
I have come to the conclusion that I may need to apply a mod to the BIOS, so I downloaded MMTool 4.50.0.23 and the latest BIOS ROM for my motherboard (X10SRI1.609.zip)
Following the guide, I tried to locate CSMCORE with no success. I can’t find CSMCORE anywhere in the list when opening the X10SRI.609 file.
Following the NVME modification thread directions, I headed to the first DXE appearance in the list and it showed volume 4.
I tried to insert the ffs file but the tool responds:
“Invalid volume index” or "Error inserting file"
I have tried plugging the NVMe M2 -> PCI Express in all the PCI Express slots of the motherboard except the one closest to the RAM, which is the 16x one and is used by a GPU.
I would greatly appreciate some help with this. Thanks.
No, the latest bios already has the AMI NVMe module present by default, so no mod in this bios version.
Set bios to PURE UEFI mode, no CSM or AUTO, secure boot to Other OS or Disable, further details here on point 4 (Installation of the OS onto the NVMe SSD)

Hi. First, thanks MeatWar for stepping in to help. I want to confirm that the x10SRF-i works perfectly with a NVMe and a simple electrical adapter.
After several hours of frustration i tried with a different NVMe drive and it just worked. My initial attempts were with a NVMe that had been abandoned in a drawer for over a year. It seems that my 960 evo quietly died.
I now have a working samsung 980 pro 2tb nvme drive booting win10 without additional drivers needed.
