card I want to boot on: HighPoint SSD7104 + 4x Samsung Evo Plus 2021 2TB
I get to many problems and not certain how to do this properly is there anyone nice enough to add me this card to boot on ?
thank you
Edit by Fernando: Thread title customized and specified
Thank you ! first question is, should I wait tomorrow to see what driver this card uses if you have taken a look at the specs of this card, this card is not some shitty bifurcation card the card manages all the M.2’s onboard and build the raid I wish there So I wonder if a regular NMVMe driver is required …
CPU4 Slot 2 (Alternative Slot4) is the recommend for the HighPoint SSD7104. The card itself has BI and its manage doesnt care about the C602 chipset BI, the only point here that matters is available CPU lanes to it, if it needs drivers, only in OS. Never used this card and dont know wot OPTION ROM is present that can be loaded by ur default bios (PCI ROM Priority) upon boot, so is there a need of a NVMe mod in ur case? Better test available features and RAID setup in the HP (RAID in chipset primary only cares about SATA devices setup, does the chipset sees any other than SATA…!!!) before flash any NVMe mod. The NVMe mod presented by Fernando, is a simple DXE EFI driver that its loaded upon standard OS configurations setup, not visible in BIOS (PATA device or boot manager entry) until it has a valid OS on it. Only a user with same card can give more details/info upon setting up RAID on older boards/chipset.
I would still be interested in getting my bios fully updated I see donate buttons everywhere I go on this quite forum but none of those who published the buttons needs money I can’t affort doing something wrong and test, I use this machine evry day for work, not for playing stupid games and wank of on youporn eating chips so if I would get a offer we might be able to agree
If u cant afford stay put, bc no one can assure u a zero tolerance bios mod that can break ur or any other system. Thats Bios MOD always with risks and has nothing to do with “stupid” games or wotever. I wouldn’t risk it if it was my only and main work machine.
That’s OK, nobody is required on this world, always remember. we are nothing if you disappear from this forum tomorrow, someone else will replace you. people will talk about you for less than a year. then, after that, it will be like you have never existed. This is my philosophy, that is why I am successful in life, happy and share with nice people
other members here will probably enjoy my share. passionate members
Thank you for sharing ur wisdom and remind us that we r "bugs" just passing through. Thank you for sharing with us ur way of life and ur huge success in sharing with others, im sure whoever needs it will appreciate it from u. As u may not understand… no one likes to be in the position of sharing a bios mod that can wreck other person system, specially to unskilled regular users.
