Hi there. 2 nights ago I bought a ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen from one of my friends over in NL, and the problems with it are a bricked bios and 2 burnt SMDs. Besides the SMDs that I’m planning to replace, I’d like to ask if anyone could share a dump of their specific model like this one. And, I’d like to add “20kg-s54200”, if it helps. Also, any idea about the smd capacitors if they’re identical to the one in the cpu power rail array (look in picture)?
And if so, or not so, can any of you check what’s the value of those capacitors and tell me? It’s pretty complicated to get a free schematic to find the right part so if possible, please…help me out
The problem with Badcaps is that they’re asking for personal information when signing on and that’s why i avoid them…
I gave up and made an account. The schematics seem useful but the bios dump files aren’t for my model…any other suggestion…? Or is it possible to somehow build a bin file from whatever split files lenovo provides…?
Sir… you asked for suggestions… and i didn’t pointed you, to use other users dumps with/or their personal system board data…but it can have some “blank” ready files…
The requested orignal system data on BCaps forum is valid
Bios files are valid by system Type 20KH, 20KG
Reconstructed “may”… be possible using both Lenovo files and saved dumps.
Nothing more to add, good luck.
Lenovo files only have bios region update, no CSME FW v11.8, those need to be dumped/used for reconstruction or it may not be need at all to program, if corrupted initialization is needed.
Look, I’m not interested into an argue, but instead I just wanna get the laptop unbricked. Theoretically you did point that the bios dump can be functional without any guarantee that it works. Anywho, got what I needed, so i’m out
